after upgrading to 8.6.1 the LicenseAdministrator on OSX fails to start.
This type of regression has happened many times before and it is surprising to see it happens again on such a vital component as the LicenseAdministrator.
The error is caused by using a wrong path for xterm (/usr/X11R6/bin/xterm) while the correct path is /opt/X11/bin/xterm
    For example in:
    /Applications/harris/envi54/idl86/LicenseAdministrator.app/Contents/Resources/Scripts/main.scpt
Changing the full path to xterm to the correct path: /opt/X11/bin/xterm makes the LicenseAdministrator on OSX start again properly.

IDL86CommandLine.app does not start either due to the same error.
    /Applications/harris/envi54/idl86/IDL86CommandLine.app/Contents/Resources/Scripts/main.scpt
    Fix: use /opt/X11/bin/xterm

    hope this helps,
    Peter

Hi, I am having this problem and would like to fix the main.scpt files you mention, but what are they? I assumed they'd be plain text files but opening them in emacs produces gibberish.
    Thanks.
