I recently updated my IDL to 8.6.1 and now I cannot use the Direct Graphics command WINDOW. I get the error: " WINDOW: Routine is not defined for current graphics device."
I am running OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), and I have the latest version of XQuartz installed.
Not sure how to fix this, used to work fine on my old version.

In the IDL Console, type help, /device. One of the outputs of this command is your "Current graphics device". On OSX, this must be set to "X". If you find your current device is set to another option, like "Win" or "Z", use the following command in the IDL Console to change it to "X": set_plot='x'.
