Sales Account Manager, Defense and Intelligence -- Herndon, VA
The Exelis Defense and Intelligence Team is seeking a Sales
Account Manager to develop business opportunities and grow top-line revenue
with our customers in the US Intelligence community. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to
provide industry leading geospatial technology and solutions to help solve some
of our nation’s most pressing challenges. This person must be
customer-oriented and have business relationships, knowledge of, and experience working, with
various US Intelligence agencies. The Sales Account Manager will sell
Exelis products and work closely with our customers, consulting,
problem-solving and analyzing customer needs to determine the best solution for
their problems. This manager will develop and implement integrated sales
strategies.
What You’ll Do:

Develop
and implement an effective sales plan and strategy for the Intelligence
business segment
- Regularly meet onsite
with customers and prospects; schedule and deliver briefings and
demonstrations at prospect and customer sites
- Initiate, manage and
close more complex sales negotiations
- Achieve quarterly and
annual sales quotas
What
You Need:
- ** U.S. citizenship and
active TS/SCI security clearance **
- A passion for working
with customers in the Defense and Intelligence community
- Previous sales or
business experience in software, hardware or other relevant industry
- Bachelor’s degree in
Business, Marketing or related field
- 2-4 years’ experience in
the geospatial field within the US Intelligence community
- Excellent communication
skills, including presenting technical material and corresponding
with customers to find solutions to difficult problems
- Familiarity with
enterprise/cloud-based architecture environments
- Strong knowledge of
geospatial software products and/or industry-related experience
- Demonstrated ability to
create business plans for customer accounts, including DoD and IC
organizational understanding, customer contact planning and related
business development skills
- Knowledge of sales cycle
and process
- Working knowledge of
contact management software, Microsoft Dynamics preferred
