Senior Account Manager (Gilching, Germany)

The Senior Account Manager sells the organizations products, training and professional services by interviewing, consulting, problem solving, and analyzing customer needs to determine the best solution; develops and implements integrated sales strategies for targeted customers and territory; and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The Senior Account Manager typically handles larger or complex client accounts.

What You’ll Do:

• Attain assigned quarterly and annual sales quotas by identifying, qualifying, negotiating and closing new business revenue with existing and new accounts.
• Develop and implement effective sales call plan and strategy involving the Sales Team, Technical Sales Engineer, Sales Manager and other resources where appropriate.
• Manage, develop and execute sales plans for the defined accounts and verticals.
• Schedule and deliver presentations at prospect and customer sites, general seminars and meetings within assigned territory.
• Represent Exelis VIS at field marketing events, industry trade shows and seminars.
• Expand the customer base through pro-active lead research, tele-prospecting and in-person sales calls.
• Initiate outbound sales calls and carry out qualified customer visits.
• Initiate, manage and close more complex sales negotiations.
• Through a consultative sales approach, articulate a compelling value proposition of products and solutions to address specific client business needs and requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5 years sales experience within the geospatial, environmental and/or defense industries.
• Proven track record of successful software sales and quota achievement.
• Demonstrated ability to close 100k€ plus deals.
• Demonstrated ability to provide sound business plans for high level accounts, including organizational understanding and strategic business plan.
• Ability to collaborate with Senior Management and Sales Management on strategic business plans to grow revenue for defined territory and accounts.
• Demonstrated ability to present corporate information to client base and set up on-site sales calls.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in German (native) and English.
• Knowledge of Exelis VIS software products and/or industry related experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, GeoScience or related discipline.
