How to transfer ROIs to images with different spatial resolutions in ENVI Classic

This Help Article discusses how to transfer an ROI created on one image to other images with different spatial resolutions. In ENVI Classic, this can be accomplished using the “Reconcile ROI via Map” button from the ROI Tools dialog.

To transfer an ROI created on one image to another image with different spatial resolution, use the “Reconcile ROI via Map” button:

1- Open the 2 images with different spatial resolutions

2- Display one of these images and create an ROI using Overlay -> Region of Interest.

3- In the ROI Tool dialog window, select Options -> Reconcile ROI via Map, and then

                           a. select the ROI you have just created

                           b. select the second image on which you want to display this ROI

4- Display the second image and then select Overlay -> Region of Interest: the ROI appears in this second dialog window and can be displayed on the second image.

For more information on how to use ENVI’s ROI tools, please see the "Regions of Interest" section of the ENVI Classic Help.
