ENVI LiDAR 5.2.1 Release Notes

Revised 17 February 2015

Change request ID numbers are included where applicable to allow us to respond to inquiries more easily.

Known Issues

ID Description
LIDAR-68971 GDAL cannot create JPEG output because neither canCreate nor canCopy is supported

A jpeg orthophoto cannot be generated when the export projection is set to Lat/Lon.

Workaround: 1) Use an export projection other than Lat/Lon, 2) Use a working image type (TIF, ENVI).
LIDAR-68789 Pointcloud product contains fewer points than the  project it is created from

When generating a pointcloud product from an ENVI LiDAR project, a small buffer within the project's data extent is excluded from being written to the output las file.
LIDAR-68741 Large inputs to GetPointsIn Rect/Polygon/Circle/Range crashes ENVI LiDAR

If the inputs to the GetPointsIn*functions result in memory requests that are larger than the physical memory available on the machine, the function call can potentially fail and cause ENVI LiDAR to crash.

Workaround: Break up the requests into smaller chunks.
LIDAR-68584 Launch Generated Products in ArcMap fails when launching a new instance of ArcMap 10.1 or 10.2

If you select Launch Generated Products in ArcMap in ArcMap 10.1 or 10.2 and ArcMap is not already running, or if you choose "Start a New Instance," then the products appear in the ArcMap layer manager, but do not display in the main view.

Workaround: Launch ArcMap from the Start menu before selecting Launch Products in ArcMap. When prompted, choose to open the products in the already running instance of ArcMap.
ENVI-70387 InstallShield Wizard graphics may not appear on Windows 7 multi-byte systems

Customers using multi-byte character sets on Windows 7 platforms may not see the InstallShield Wizard graphics when installing the software.

Workaround: set the TMP environment variable to a writeable path such as C:\TMP, then re-install the software.
