Jagwire: Adding Capture Cores

Use these instructions to add a new or replace a (rarely) missing fmv capture core. Make sure to configure the new core in the UI with whatever stream is needed to be captured.

1.    Edit /etc/sysconfig/affinity with vim
2.    Add the following to the file:

          a.      capcore-X=0 (where ‘X’ is one higher than the last capcore)

3.      write and quit (:wq)

4.      change directory to /usr/local/Jagwire/commons-capture-core

5.      Run ./create-capture X (the previously used X from above)

6.      Reboot the system

7.      Login and access PDmenu

8.      Go to Video > Configure cores per… (CPU affinity)

9.      Find the newly added capture core (should be numbered X) and select it using it’s number

10.    Give it 1-3 cores (1 is normal you may need 2 for HD)

11.     Then hit ‘s’ to save

12.     Reboot

13.     New capcore is now ready and configurable in the GUI
