System variables, global variables, and an available objects list 1729 0

RSI, thank you for the prompt answer to my last question. I have another (and, I'm sure many more will follow). This question could easily have fit without the IDL forum, but I'm putting it here since it is intended for withing the ENVI environment.
I'm trying to create a series of tools for analysis and visualization of 'objects'. I have routines for creating and loading 'objects'. I'd like these 'objects' to be persistant so that they don't have to be constantly loaded anytime the user...

DEM in orthorectification 1757 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi
I am using ENVI 4.1 to orthorectify some aerial photos I have.
The process seems to be working fine except that I have areas on black on the finished product.
I think that this is a problem with the DEM I am using where there are areas of No-Data possibly, causing this omission of the photo.
The DEM I am using is a geotiff which has been converted from an asc file. But I don’t think it is in the best format. (Or data was not converted properly)
I have the original ASC file, ca...

may be in place...

ENVI_COMPUTE_SUN_ANGLE - Problem still not solved 2014 0
Started by Deleted User
It is for the Tech Team - my proble is still unsolved
Refereing to online help of ENVI 4.1 on ENVI_COMPUTE_SUN_ANGLES. If you look at the explanation of argument GMTime the 2:30 PM is represented as 1430 rather than 1450 if the accompanying Example is correct. If argument expalnation is correct then in Example 10:45 PM should be 2245 rather than 2275. Kindly clarify whether the GMTtime minutes range from 00 to 60 or 00 to 100.

ENVI_COMPUTE_SUN_ANGLES - confusion in GMTTime argument 2060 0
Started by Deleted User
This routine ENVI_COMPUTE_SUN_ANGLES has an argument of GMTTime and its help says that a time of 2:30PM is to be given as 1430 whereas in the accompanying EXAMPLE the time of 10:45PM is represneted as 1075. If we follow EXAMPLE then 2:30PM should have been represented as 1450 and if we follow the argument help then 10:45PM should have been given as 1045. Do anybody has idea what should be correct form of GMTTime to be given to this routine

NITF Module - Add/Edit attributes to file header and segment headers - Batch Mode?? 1742 0

Hello,
I'd like to ask if anyone has done the following operations in either ENVI/IDL/NITF Module.
I'm pretty new to image programming, more specifically IDL and ENVI, so I'd appreciate if anyone would shed a light on me. Thanks!!!.
I'd like to be able to manipulate an NITF file with absolutely no user interaction (ENVI Batch Mode). Given an input NITF file, can I perform these operations dynically:
* Open an NITF file.
* Retrieve single or all attributes of NITF file header, and o...

I got an algorithm as follow:

So, the log&91chl&93 is actually 'Log base 10' or 'natural logarithm'
Natural logarithm is same as ln
