Hi, I am a new user of ENVI... I am trying to put vector layers on top of a DEM image, but the vectors wouldn't show up. Does anyone have any idea where the problem is (I checked the projection)

Combining thematic layers 2770 1
Started by Deleted User
Hello All,
I want to combine set of classifed images into a single image.
For eg: If image1 class is 'A' AND image2 class is 'B' then output image class is 'C'.
I looked at band math but I guess another approach is neccesary for combining classified images.
Any help is appreciated.
Regards,
Sitansu

ROI SEPARABILITY 4634 4
Started by Deleted User
I get the error message:'Singular value encountered in calculation for ROI '. If I subset for bands 1-10 or 10-20 I get right results, but if I subset for 1-20 the error message is displayed and results are all 0.
Why HELP doesn't give algorithm constraits to be able to performe separability
Does anyone have advice
Thanks in advance

Calibration of the values shown in images to get the reflectancy 3038 1
Started by Deleted User
I'm processing AVHRR raw files with a programm written in IDL, to correct the values because of the influence of solar and sensor zenith angles, but the values of the raw and the corrected images range between 70 and over 500. How can I get them either to values in percent (up to max 100) or in a fraction of reflectancy(range between 0 and 1)

Importing ASCII ROIs for image creation 2935 0
Started by Deleted User
Dear ENVIans,
The 'Output ROIs to ASCII' command format files in the following manner:
;ENVI Output of ROIs (3.4) &91Mon Apr 17 17:00:26 2000&93
...
; ID X Y B1 B2 B3
1 12 14 255 0 124
2 13 28 153 100
...
where X and Y are sample and line numbers, and B1, B2, b3 give the DN corresponding to some spectral band.
I have already Outputted ROIs data to ASCII. Now I would like to re-import my data and create an image corresponding to a particular field.
Is there a build-in...

Creating a Transparency over a gray scale image 2808 0
Started by Deleted User
Hello
I would like to use as many envi functions as possible to accomplish the following, but if needed, I can also do some stuff in IDL.
What I would like to do is create something like a transparency to overlay on a gray scale image. The transparency will be made up of red pixels that correspond to the original gray scale image. I can do this using the 8 color scheme and changing the color table, but I want to find a way to do this using the True color scheme.
Thanks for your time,

ROI separability error 3724 0
Started by Deleted User
I have a list of ROIs (50) and want to compare subsets for their spectral separability. Whether I compare 2 ROIs or 20, I get an error, and the results only show '0' or NaN. This is the error message:
Singular value encountered in calculation for ROI .
I haven't been able to run 'Compare ROI separability' successfully.
Does anyone have advice
Thanks in advance...

warping avhrr data 2940 0
Started by Deleted User
I am trying to use batch processing to warp avhrr imagery, however I have strange result (shifted in x) If I do the warp interactively everything is ok but if I use the batch processing something is wrong! I used the samples projections definitions and adding a new one and always is the same differences between batch and interactive.

mosaic template: inserting new bands/images 2844 0
Started by Deleted User
Is there a way to insert new bands/images into an existing mosaic template's individual image positions (i.e. use it as a REAL template) in an interactive manner. I would like to do it without editing the actual text file/script.
An older manual (Envi 3.4) alluded to being able to do this, but its directions aren't applicable AND the current version 3.6 has nothing about it.
Thanks,
Orest

Subset RIOs by 'Resize(spatial/spectral)' vs. 'Subset Data via ROI 3830 0
Started by Deleted User
I have just started using ENVI and will be analyzing radar data with its PCA algorithm.
What is the difference between subsetting an image using ROIs using:
a) Resize(spatial/spectral) command on the Basic Tools menu and
b) Subset Data via ROIs command on the same menu.
The two methods seem to be identical except the latter command (b) also allows you to mask the pixels outside the ROI but in the bounding box. When not using the mask in (b) the results seem to be identical to the for...

I would like to mosaic several georeferenced ASTER images (level 1A/B as well as DEMs), but I keep receiving an error that states that ENVI is 'unable to mosaic georeferenced images containing a rotation factor other than zero'.
