Class color/name edit problem 1545 0
Started by Deleted User
Hello,I just submitted a tech support ticket for this, but I thought I share this here too...I was very happy to see that class names and colors can be easily edited now in ENVI 5.3, but it looks like it's not quite working right yet. The steps below explain my workflow that resulted in some unwanted results:1. I did a very simple K-means classification of a Landsat 6-band subset, which worked fine.2. I edited class names and colors by right-clicking the 'Classes' and did my color and names edit...

DOIT Routine for Rotating Images 1394 1
Started by Deleted User
Is there a 'doit' routine for rotating images by a specific angle
I know the capability exists through the 'Rotate/Flip Data' tool. (Basic Tools -> Rotate/Flip Data). This tool allows the user to input an angle that the image should be rotated.
However, the 'ROTATE_DOIT' routine does not take an angle as an input. It looks like the only options for rotation here is to use the ROT_TYPE keyword which only allows for rotations that are multiples of 90 degrees, not any other angles.
Is there ano...

AISA Atmospheric Correction 1659 1
Started by Deleted User
I'm trying to conduct an atmospheric correction of an AISA-Eagle file via FLAASH (ENVI 4.8 32-bit).
Since it's possible to change the settings of this sensor and I get a really confusing reflectance output, I would like to check the applied spectrograph definition file of the AISA sensor. So where can I find this file
Also I've seen that ENVI needs W * cm-2 * sr-1 * nm-1, but somebody in this forum has written and the FLAASH-Help says, that ENVI needs µW * cm-2 * sr-1 * nm-1. Which one is...

Using Band ratios in Decision trees 1667 1
Started by Deleted User
Hello.
I am trying to separate submerged vegetation from sediment within an estuary using some CASI hyperspectral data. I first ran a Max-likelihood classification with defined ROIs. I am now using decision trees to further separate the classes and improve overall accuracy. So I am using the classification file as the initial input data and the imagery(band-ratios), elevation, NDVI data to refine the classification I have identified a band ration that should separate the classes but it's not...

Download Envi 5.2 5264 1
Started by Deleted User
Hello, I just went through a major computer crash and had to completely reinstall Windows 7 on my hard drive. I of course lost my Envi 5.2 programme for which I have a valid licence. I don't seem to have a back up of the programme for some reason. I have searched the Exelis site and was unable to find a place to download the programme. Does anyone know where I can find an Envi install programme/disk. The only versions I can find right now are pirated ones which I would very much like to avoid. T...

Best methods for spatially processing large images? 1742 1
Started by Deleted User
Note: I am using ENVI Classic and IDL
I'm looking for some tips on the best way to complete some spatial processing on very large single band images.
I'm investigating using ENVI's tiling routines to accomplish this, but have some issues.
One example given in ENVI's help uses the tiling routines to process an image and save it in memory. It is something along the lines of:
envi_file_query, fid, ns=ns, nl=nl, data_type=data_type
pos=&910&93
mem_res = make_array(ns, nl, type=data_type)
tile_...

creating images from Spectral library files 1852 1
Started by Deleted User
Hello,
I have a question following up from something I was working on several months ago with an ENVI tech, outlined in the email below (Incident 290851).
I am trying to create a one-row image with all the spectral bands from spectral library (ASD file) contained within the image. I am receiving the following message when I try to calculate ROI separability (based on the .dat file Support tech suggested I create) "The Input must contain two bands". The .dat metadata says t...

Mosaicking TIFF rasters including 1-D image strips 1129 3
Started by Deleted User
Hi everyone,
I'm working on mosaicking a bunch of single-band TIFF integer files stored in a folder. The TIFF files are a complete mosaic of the area. However, mosaicking results in black horizontal bars of missing data across the landscape. Upon further inspection, these bands appear to be the result of TIFF files that are one-dimensional strips, which fail to load for mosaicking (the 'file not 2D/3D' error). How can I include this data in my final mosaics
Cheers,
Adam

Abnormal NDVI value after Flaash 2001 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi,
I am using ENVI 5.1, I want to conduct image pre-processing before calculating the NDVI. However, I encounter some anomalies as below:
If calculate the NDVI before pre-processing, the values of the forest are around 0.4 - 0.5.
After radiometric calibration, I choose reflectance, the values are around 0.5- 0.7, I think this result is more accurate as it matches the findings from other literature.
I continue to use the radiometric calibrated image to conduct atmospheric correction using Flaash...

Flaash water vapor channels 1759 14
Started by Deleted User
Hello,
I am using FLAASH to correct a hyperspectral image (400-700nm) atmospherically, which doesn’t have bands for water vapor retrieval. However, the FlAASH program exits with error saying 'water numerator and denominator channels not found for .82 band.' even though I selected 'No' for water retrieval option. In such case, as far as I know, the column water vapor amount is determined by the user-selected atmospheric model. Why I am still getting this error.
Please correct if I misse...

ENVI &39;File>Save As&39; error message 1655 2
Started by Deleted User
I am using IDL/ENVI on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine. Currently, I cannot save files in ENVI using 'File>Save As'. I get an error dialog box stating 'Expression must be a scalar in this context: PREVFILE.' It has worked in the past, but stopped working and restarting the computer did not fix the problem. Is there a corrupt file or setting I can easily fix or is a complete uninstall and reinstall required, or another fix needed Thanks.

Student Question regarding ASTER Orthorectification 1773 3
Started by Deleted User
Hey there,
I'm a GIS/Remote Sensing student, writing my senior thesis on geothermal energy reconnaissance using ASTER imagery in Colorado. I'm fairly new to remote sensing, and most of the labs I've done used pre-processed and pre-orthorectified imagery, so I don't have a lot of practice with orthorectification.
My data: I have ASTER L1B and L1T imagery, and I also have a point shapefile of oil/gas well locations with anomalous temperatures and UTM coordinates. I'm at a total loss as to how I ca...

Is it just me and my situation, or is there a possibility that the geoid correction value can accumulate over successive runs of that workflow The value is calculated automaticall...

Retrieve pixel Map location from display to IDL 1582 2
Started by Deleted User
ENVI 5.2
Hello, I'm trying to get a pixels map location from the display. I'm looking for a functionally similar method as disp_get_location. But instead of the x/y coordinate pairs I'd like to retrieve the Map value for the pixel to IDL. I'm trying to compare map locations between two open images and using IDL for this would make it much faster.
ex. Map: 392145.00E, 2976045.00N
Is there something that can help me do this Thanks.

MOSAIC few bands of the same extent_with NaN and data in each band 1600 2
Started by Deleted User
I am trying to mosaic four bands of the same spatial extent, each one has no data as NaN, and good data as float. Each area with data was masked before , and now (after certain operations on the good data) I am trying to put them back again (If all NaN areas were put together, they complete the image). Mosaic resulted is always a NaN image . I set the data ignore value as NaN. How can I get the data values insteadTried to add these four bands (band math), still the result is the same. Is there...

MLC using spectral libraries. 1751 1
Started by Deleted User
Hello.
I am trying to run a maximum likelihood classification (MLC) using a spectral signature that was taken using a field handheld spectrometer. I have input the spectral signature into a resampled spectral library and everything looks good. However, I do not know how to use the spectral library as input to my supervised classification. Is there a way to run an MLC with a spectral library or signature
This seems possible from my understanding. MLC uses ROIs to calculate an average spectral...

Trouble with TEXTURE_COOCCUR_DOIT 2123 10
Started by Deleted User
Hi all,
When I run this command with all the set parameters (based on the syntax at the top of http://www.exelisvis.com/docs/TEXTURE_COOCCUR_DOIT.html), including setting /G_LEVELS=64, I get an error reporting a syntax error when I try to compile my module, but when I take out the /G_LEVELS option, the script runs without any syntax errors. How come this is so Is this option not supported in ENVI Classic 5.0, as the directions are for ENVI 5.2 SP 1
Thanks!
