probably these below could seem strange questions but I'm a beginner.. so any help would be useful.
1-When I import my SPOT VGT image (bands blu, red, NIR and SWIR) and for example i visualize the statistics, or the z profile, I cannot see the wavelenghts but just the number of the bands (1,2,3...). Do I forget to do something

I have LandSat 8 that I downloaded from USGS Glovis and most of them I have no clouds. There are a few of them are at under 10 percent cloud cover. There are some of the Landsat I have some smoke or haze.
Is it possblie for me to remove them in ENVI 5.0 My thoughts is that there is no way to do that and maybe wait and find a different date or month
I am new to ENVI 5.0 and how do I do if there is a possible to do that

Hi everybody,
I'm a student, just entering the world of remote sensing. Don't even know if anyone can help me about this issue, but I m dialing with envi trying to calculate the Leaf Area Index, can someone give me some tips about how to do it with the software (or maybe some reading to do) I already know the algorithm I want to use, exploiting the Reduced simple ratio, but I don't know how to use it. Please.Help me.

fid of IN_MEMORY image cannot be converted to ENVIRaster 1385 3

I'm trying to create an ENVIRaster out of an image that has been created by envi_doit, 'class_doit' using the IN_MEMORY argument. The problem is that ENVIFidToRaster fails, printing 'Unable to create ENVIRaster', when supplied with the (valid) r_fid If the IN_MEMORY switch is not used to create the image, everything works perfectly.
Is there a way to convert an IN_MEMORY image to an ENVIRaster

I have a question. Why are there two modules ENVI 5.0 and ENVI Classic Do I need to work interchangeable these two modules when I need to do some tools to perform the work or Should I just needed to stay one modulate at a time

1) Is it possible to segment one image, extract features/attributes and save it as training data and then use this data to classify other images (not the same area)
2) Is it possible to add own features/attributes Or implement other algorithms, e.g some other segmentation methods
3) How do i create ground truth regions

Dear All,
I'm actually working in coastal lagoons trying to retrieve chl-a concentrations from Landsat data. It is my intention to run quac on my TM4, TM5 and ETM time series.
I would like to know which is the best way of doing it.
I noticed that
1) reflectance outputs for the same image differ if I use DN or Radiance asinput data. Actually in my case output reflectances calculated from DN valueshave higher values than those ones calculated with radiances.

Hello,
I can't load pix file (PCI) into ENVI 5.1 even if i'm using open as IP Software. Error message: read procedure failed or does not exist. This issue was also in ENVI 5.0. ENVI classic version open pix files without any problem. Why it is like that
Other question. Maybe ENVI have some option to highlight or classify hot spots on the termal image (one broadband)

in order to open an Envisat ASAR .N1 file for the further procession in IDL, but I got a reply 'Input file is not a valid raster.' What should I do

I am trying to atmospherically correct Landsat 8 data (OLI) using Flaash but I am getting negative values. I am first calibrating the image using envi’s “radiometric calibration” and applying flash settings (scale factor of 0.1) and then using a single scale factor of 1 for all bands in Flaash. This same settings work fine when correcting Landsat TM and ETM getting very accurate surface reflectance values but it doesn’t seem to work with Landsat OLI (even though I am ...

I thought I had finally worked out how to use this workflow and entered six points to form an adequate set of seed tie points, but when I opened the table to review my work, all of the Image2x (x coordinate for image 2) were set to the value "1".

I have made a decision tree using data from 2 MODIS images and 2 Landsat images, and I would like to apply the decision tree classification to a specific ROI within the larger image. How do I do that I ran the decision tree on my full image, but I can't figure out how to apply it just to a specific ROI. I am using ENVI Classic but I have access to ENVI 5 if there is an easier way using that version of the program.
Also, is it possible to make an ROI that is associated with more than one image (...

re-sorting hyperspectral bands, layer stack 2544 4

Hello,
What is the easiest way of re-sorting (other than manual) the bands in ENVI I layer-stacked 242 bands, but band 1 is the last one and band 242 the first one after stacking. Manually re-sorting with the layer stack tool is way too much work. I tried to edit the header file, but that just changes the layer names but not the actual bands.
