performing arithmetic on tif files through ENVI 1539 1

Hi folks - I need to do some Landsat processing programmetrically, as in, through a script. I need to do basica arithmetic functions on landsat individual bands (tif files). I began to go about this by using ENVI functions, ie, calling ENVI_GET_DATA, to read in the data, and then hopefully, be able to perfrom arithmentic on the pixel values. Is this possible on a tif iamge through ENVI functions I can apparently *open* a tif file using ENVI_OPEN_DATA_FILE, but it is not clear to me I can ac...

I encountered a problem when I utilized ENVI Zoom's feature extraction. The output shapefile is reverse when displayed in ArcMap. I don't know how this happened. Can someone help me to solve this problem

Hi all.
I am attempting to join spectra from the short (400-1000 nm) and long (1000-4000 nm) wavelengths of the CRISM spectrometer. Because of a spectral and spatial offset between the detectors I cannot simply merge the two data sets into one file. Rather, I need to collect and ratio the two detector's spectra independently and would like to join or merge them into one spectra from 400-4000 nm so they are one file in my spectral library.

I have processed ASTER TIR data with Reference Channel for emissivity
and Band 10 shows only noise.
I don't know if this is normal.

Hello,
I have:
1 - SRTM DEM
2 - GeoEye-1 - GeoProduct with RPCs
3 - Reference BaseMap of the area (Generated from Orthophoto )
I ran the orthorectification GeoEye-1 image using only RPC and SRTM DEM, and got a great result, with an almost perfect alignment between the image and the Reference BaseMap.
Additionally, did the collection of 9 GCPs in Reference BaseMap to run the RPC orthorectification with SRTM DEM RPCs GCPs. (The GCPs were with 0.9 RMS when inse...

Hi I am new to envi and have been working on an urban landscape classification. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for the ground truthing process. I know that you typically use ROI's from known areas of each class and then run the confusion matrix in the post classification tools, but what I don't understand is how to determine an adequate sample size of known areas for each class.
I'd appreciate any help you can offer.

Hi there. I've been working with ENI for a couple weeks now and just recently FLAASH. I'm trying to make some corrections for some landsat datasets. I've read up on FLAASH and after tinkering with some of the parameters, it seems pretty straight forward. Unfortunately, I'm running into some errors. While the program is running, I keep getting the same warning about every 30 seconds:

I'am trying to do a mosaicking by cutline with WV-2 in ENVI 4.7, and I'am following manual, but I always get the error "the selected annotation file not does contain the expected object annotation defines a valid cutline" So that, I don't understand what I may be wrong.
Any suggestions what may be the error

I have an GeoEye-1 image and would want to orthorectify.
The product is the Geo version, and come with the RPC´s.
Does the ENVI Orthorectification Module 4.8 support this product data
I know that the 4.7 does not.
I need to use the Rigorous models on ENVI to orthorectify this image.

i have this equation to use in ENVI 4.8. I do not have access to IDL so i cannot do it by using that.
what i am wondering is if it possible to run the equation through Band Math.

I am extracting vegetation from some NAIP imagery but can't figure out how to maintain my segmentation once the classification has been completed. Envi keeps grouping segments of adjacent vegetation polygons together into one. Does anyone know how fix this

I'm writing an ENVIIDL program to automate image reprojection. At the call of ENVI_CONVERT_FILE_MAP_PROJECTION, the corresponding ENVI dialog opens, as if it were working, but then I get the following error:
"reg_warp_doit: An error has occurred during processing
Error: "Variable is undefined: WL." The result may be invalid."
I don't know where the WL variable *should* be defined, or where it's used. I don't see it in documentation for ENVI_CONVERT_FIL...

Hi everybody,
I need to fill the gaps of landsat ETM with envi extension gapfill.sav.I already use Envi 4.4 and downloaded the .SAV file and put it in the proper directory.(but instead of Envi46 folder i have envi 44).
But my program didnt add any tab concerning the gapfill.can any body help me with that
I have also used panchroma software but for saving the final images you must buy its license.
I would be thankful if anybody can help me or offer another software instead

I am a graduate student working on a classification thesis project using WorldView-2, IKONOS, and Quickbird from different years. I need to atmospherically correct each image before I can begin processing, and my advisor suggested using Dark Subtract. I've tried this method using band minimum on the WV2 image with the full scene, and all 8 bands, but the output pixel values were all the same. i have created a mask with the 0 and 1 values
however when i go to apply the mask to an image i seem to get same mask whichever values i choose when i apply.
this is what is happening i am selecting the 0 value which mask out everything except the 1 values.
however i do the opposite. so i select 1 value to mask out everything except the 0 values. and i get the same result
this does not seem right to me is there anything i could be missing when i create a mask thanks
