Deleting a file in a given directory 1658 1
Started by Deleted User
I'm trying to work with some temporary files my program would create.
After creating a file and saving it automatically during the execution, what command could I use for that file to be automatically deleted from its directory once I don't need it anymore

IDL string() function 1670 2
Started by Deleted User
I have what seems like it should be a simple problem, when I use the string() function in this line:
STRING(j 1,'.bmp')
where j is an integer, i get spaces before the filename created, so that it is in a form:
****1.bmp, where the * is a space. is there a quick way to get rid of these spaces or do I have to convert j from an integer to a character and use the character in the function

rsi prevention 1844 0
Started by Deleted User
I see little about preventing rsi by using hotkeys
of course disadvantage of hotkeys is they are hard to remember
but we developed methode which helps you learning them
extra advantage of using hotkeys is better knowledge of applications, better computing resulting in less stress.

converting geographic coordinates to file coordinates 1537 0
Started by Deleted User
Hey, I'm building a function for ENVI to collect values of a raster at a larger number of points. I'm thinking my best option is to set up a point ROI for each and collect the value with ENVI_GET_ROI_DATA. It seems to be working well, EXCEPT: all my points are in geographic coordinates (latitude-longitude), while ROIs work with file coordinates. How do I convert between the two
Thanks!
-Eric

ESRI GRID export crashing ENVI 1674 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi all, I keep getting some serious crashes with ENVI 4.2 when I go to do an ESRI GRID export (the entire program just disappears as if I killed the process in the task manager). I have also been getting this problem sometimes when I'm using a code with ENVI_PICKFILE. I'm using Windows XP (all updated to latest service packs) on a Thinkpad G41, 1.5 gb RAM, 3.3 ghz processor, lots of HD space. Anyone else had this problem Solutions

I am new to this forum so, first of all, hello to everyone and thanks in advance for the help.
I'm truly a beginner in IDL so I suspect my problem should have a ridiculously simple answer, be patient in case this is true...

getting IDL to resolve functions in files with mixed or upper case names 1557 1
Started by Deleted User
When IDL tries to resolve functions it looks for files in the current working directory, but apparently converts all function names to lower case before searching for the file names. Is there any way around this Even using RESOLVE_ALL doesn't work. Compiling manually using .compile does work but is a bit of a pain.
Thanks in advance for any help.

problems: batch interpolation and file match 1506 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi all,
I want to interpolate ten years monthly weather data (lon/ lat/ temperature) with IDW. Also the produced surface size should match a NDVI imagery (per pixel size is 8 km). I wrote a small programm to do the interpolation with Fortrain language. But the problem is I counldn't match the result surface to the NDVI imagery exactly.
Is anybody out there, who did this with IDL and can explain to me how to do it
thanks!
