Programmatically rotate iSurface from command line 1198 1
Started by Deleted User
Could someone tell me how to programmatically rotate an iSurface graph from the command line I was hoping to have a simple ax, ay, or az keyword like surface does to set the angle of rotation, but from what I've seen iSurface doesn't have anything similar. I started reading in the Help on "iTool Programming->Controlling iTools from the Command line" but I can't seem to find the right property or identifier I would need to modify.
This seems like it should be simple...

running IDL in batch from Apache server 1136 1
Started by Deleted User
I have an IDL 7.0.6 running on my Vista laptop. I need to run in batch mode in a web application, i.e. the Apache server needs to run idlde -batch . The batch commands generated by my script work fine from an administrator terminal window. However, when I run it through Apache, IDL starts up but then hangs. I'm guessing it has something to do with access rights to the .idl directory, which probably Apache isn't able to create.
Running IDL this way worked fine with older versions, since the in...

Started by Deleted User
Hello,
I have a DELL XPS M1530 with Ubuntu 8.10, where I installed&160;IDL 7.0.&160;&160;This is the first time that I use IDL7.0, before I always used IDL6.0.
I'm having trobles using some libraries, the astronomical libraries (&160;http://idlastro.gsfc.nasa.gov/ftp/.)
I try to give the path of these libraries in many ways (from the IDL terminal, or&160; exporting the IDL_PATH&160;in my .bashrc) without any success.
Actually, the path is recognized by the system (I checked with echo $...

Hello all,
I hope someone can help me out with this issue...&160; I am trying to plot satellite data over Europe and am resizing the data using the CONGRID function and then interpolating it to make it display correctly... except it is not.&160; When I display the data I get these lines of misplaced data which seem to line up exactly along longitude lines and appear to be removed from the right most side of the image and placed at even intervals.&160;&160;I had a hunch and removed all the c...

Graphical windows hang while debugging 915 1
Started by Deleted User
When I'm in the middle of debugging a program, and I open a graphics window (for example, tvscl, iimage), the window will display but I cannot interact with it with the mouse.&160; When I terminate the debugging, all the actions on the window appear to have been queued up and are then performed.
Is there a way around this
Thanks,

If a XMK file is present with a JPEG2K, ENVI read it so as to get map info. It is thus able to get projection, pixel size etc. from this XML file. How to do somthing similar with IDL.
Thank you for any help!

Please explain me something about the anonymus structure of this keyword (Where I can find data set index and information about DIMS in HDF file).

MATH DO IT using 3 bands for EVI calculation 1507 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi guys,
Im just new in using IDL. Last time I posted here, I got help from this forum on how to use MATH DO IT for vegetation indices calculation, i.e. NDVI and LSWI which uses 2 bands for calculation (red and NIR). It worked! Thank you.
I tried using the same script for "EVI" and just changed the equation and bands since it uses 3 bands for calculation (RED,NIR,BLUE bands).
QUESTION about MATH DO IT:&160; Does it work for 3 input bands Or its just limited to 2 input bands If an...
