Overlay of density slice and contours on image is not retained in QuickMap

When a user opens an image in ENVI and then would like to overlay a density slice or contour lines, these overlays are not retained when trying to make a QuickMap from the image.

One possible alternative is to first save the image with the overlaid density slice or contours, and to then create a QuickMap.
These steps will show how to do this:

1.
First save the image with the overlayed density slice or contours as an ENVI default image:

From the Display menu, File->Save Image As->Image File->ENVI

2. Second, open that saved image from Step 1 in a new display. You will see that the image has the saved density slice or contours in it.

3.
Make a QuickMap from the image displayed in Step 2:

From the Image window, File->Quickmap->New Quickmap or from Previous Template.

This QuickMap will now contain the density slice or contour overlays.

This workaround will get the density slice or contour lines saved into the image, so the user can then create a QuickMap from that saved image. It is important to note that this workaround suggestion may not produce the best results in all situations. During the vector to raster conversion (saving the contour lines to the image), the vectors will be pixelized and will affect the look of the QuickMap.

This Help Article is a suggested workaround for CR # 31089 and CR # 23460.
