IDL and ENVI conform to Office of Management and Budget Federal Desktop Core Configuration
The Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) is a set of security configuration settings mandated by the federal Office of Management and Budget for government desktop computer systems. As of this writing, FDCC security settings are only defined for Microsoft Windows XP and Vista systems. More information is available from:
Discussion:
Exelis Visual Information Solutions' IDL and ENVI products, based on IDL version 7.1 and later, conform to the Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC). Specifically, Exelis Visual Information Solutions certifies that:
- IDL and ENVI are fully functional and operate correctly as intended on systems using the FDCC.
- The standard installation, operation, maintenance, update, and/or patching of IDL and ENVI do not alter the configuration settings from the approved FDCC configuration. On Microsoft Windows systems, IDL and ENVI use the Windows Installer service for installation into the default "Program Files" directory. IDL and ENVI can be installed or uninstalled silently.
- IDL and ENVI run in the standard user context without elevated system administration privileges, with the following exceptions:
- System administration privileges are required during installation.
- System administration privileges are required to use the add-on DICOM Network Services module.
- System administration privileges are required to run a license server for "floating" or server-based "node-locked" IDL or ENVI licenses.
