Hints in case SARscape menu does not display in ENVI

This article includes 3 proposals in case the SARscape menu does not display in ENVI toolbox after installing SARscape on Windows.

  1.  Option 1:
  • Close ENVI
  • Disable any antivirus installed on the machine
  • Run again the SARscape installer as administrator
  • Check if the SARscape menu is now available in ENVI Toolbox
  • Re-enable the antivirus afterwards

  1.  Option 2:
  • Close ENVI
  • Open the Environment Variable panel
  • Check the WINDIR variable and confirm if the file SARscape_configuration.ini is located under this directory. For example, if WINDIR is set to C:\Windows, SARscape_configuration.ini should be located under C:\Windows
  • If it is not the case,  create  a SARscape_configuration.ini file in the WINDIR path and add the following lines in it - please adjust the paths if needed-:

C:\Program Files\SARMAP SA\SARscape\auxiliary\key_files\

C:\Program Files\SARMAP SA\SARscape\mandatory\

C:\Program Files\SARMAP SA\SARscape\work\

C:\Program Files\SARMAP SA\SARscape\bin\

C:\Program Files\SARMAP SA\SARscape\auxiliary\map_files\

C:\Program Files\SARMAP SA\SARscape\auxiliary\description_files\

C:\Program Files\SARMAP SA\SARscape\auxiliary\xml_parameters_definition\

C:\Program Files\SARMAP SA\SARscape\auxiliary\six_schema\

C:\Program Files\SARMAP SA\SARscape\auxiliary\api_description\

C:\Program Files\SARMAP SA\SARscape\auxiliary\xml_schema_files\

LSBF

ACTIVE

C:\Program Files\SARMAP SA\SARscape\license\

NaN

  • Check if the SARscape menu is now available in ENVI Toolbox

  1.  Option 3:
  • Close ENVI
  • Open the below folder - adjust the path if needed-

C:\Program Files\SARMAP SA\SARscape\config_file\

  • Run as administrator the below file

update_envi_extensions.exe

  • Check if the SARscape menu is now available in ENVI Toolbox

  1.  If none of the above options help:
  • Open the Environment Variable panel
  • Check the path set for the TEMP variable . By default it should be

C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp

  • Move to that path and copy the file called

install_SARscape.trace_.txt

  • Move to

C:\Program Files\SARMAP SA\SARscape\

  • Copy the file called

uninsca.dat
