Landsat calibration 1252 5
Started by Deleted User
Hello,
I'm performing the the Landsat calibration to radiance/reflectance (basic tools --> preprocessing).
Some parameters are obligatory to fill in: sensor type, date, sun elevation and band. Then, ENVI uses default values for the calibration parameters Lmin, Lmax, gain and bias. But these default values don't seem to be accurate if I compare the Lmin/Lmax with those in the MTL file and if I calculate the gain/bias myself.
So I suppose that the result is more accurate when...

Error loading images - incorrect dimensions 2728 3
Started by Deleted User
Would anyone be able to help me with an error that I get when loading image files into ENVI
The versions that I have tried are 4.3, 4.7 and 4.8.
The error that I get is:
ENVI error
(18,359,835 bytes)
Problem: the specified dimensions are incorrect
They total 18,360,000 bytes
The group that I sourced the images from supplied me with ENVI formatted images along with the headers.
They have no issues in loading them (using v4.4) and have supplied me with a video sho...

difference between ENVI's shaded relief product and calculated result by myself 1228 0
Started by Deleted User
According to the documentation,"ENVI's shaded relief product is essentially Lambertian reflectance, calculated by taking the cosine of the incidence angle: cos(i) = cos(90-a)*cos(b) sin(90-a)*sin(b)*cos(c-d) where i=incidence angle (angle between solar rays and the surface normal), a=solar elevation angle, b=slope, c=solar azimuth angle, d=aspect.". However, when I try to caculate the cos(i) by myself, I find the two results are not exact the same, especially in the the shadow region....

QuickBird FLAASH 960 2
Started by Deleted User
I'm using QuickBird images in Antarctica to extract soil moisture values from field work. I'm running the images through FLAASH to obtain the surface reflectance values. I'm getting reasonable values once I ran the image through ( -0.22 to 1.3 in the pan band). In order to obtain these values I have to divide the image by 1000 in band math. I might have a scaling problem with images. I'll quickly show my steps to achieve the final image:

just want to clarify, if we use ENVI_STATS_DOIT to compute the eigenvalues and eigenvectors, the returned eigenvectors are returned as row vectors Meaning the first eigenvector is actually stored as eigenvect&91*,0&93

Applying Decision Trees to Image Files systematically 1276 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi,
I have a multitude of image files that I am attempting to apply a decision tree to.
I have created the decision tree to analyze the images, but am looking for a way to apply the decision tree to my images and retrieve the output.
In envi I can do this one image at a time simply through the envi interface, but I was wondering if anyone could provide me with the commands for IDL that could access the bands my images have in envi and then apply the band math to the images a...

Swir bands showing shift 1034 0
Started by Deleted User
hello... I have done the processing as mentioned by you VNIR bands are lokking very good after orthorectification but in the SWIR all the 6 bands are showing shift from each other all the 6 bands are at different positions so when i am making FCC using them the image is blur. what may be the problem.
why there is shift in the swir data itself.

Fiducials for RPCs (Orthorectifying) 1142 3
Started by Deleted User
I am trying to select some fiducials to build the RPCs for a photo that I am attempting to orthrectify. I do not have the original image or the camera report for the photos, all I have is the digital tiff. file. I am wondering if there is a way to get around not having these for the photo. Would it be possible to orthrorectify the photos by geo-referencing them if it is not possible to do it via the fiducials Any expert knowledge would be much appreciated.

topo_doit output error 1153 3
Started by Deleted User
Hi everyone,
I have been automating the envi-topographic modelling function using the envi_doit, topo_doit script to calculate the slope from a DEM. but I found out that the topo_doit function cant handle DEM files in lat/long projection, because it gives an output image with weird values. the interesting thing is if I do it manually, through the toolbar.. it works perfectly (with the same input image in lat lon). Can anyone kindly give me an explanation about this doesnt the envi toolba...

ENVI Tools for ArcGIS Not Running Just Hangs 1043 1
Started by Deleted User
The ENVI tools in ArcGIS just hang. No matter which tool is used. Even the change Raster format tool.
The tools launch but then the Arc Geoprocessing window pops up stating it is Starting ENVI processes and then it just hangs.
Running ENVI 4.8 / ArcGIS 10 sp 2 and Windows 7 64 bit.
The environment variable ENVI48_GPTOOLS is set and I can see idlrt.exe (32 bit) running in Task Manager.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Spectra Editing 1306 3
Started by Deleted User
Hi,
I ahve .sig file collected using Spectra Vista HR 1024. Overlap has been removed. Let me know is it mandatory to edit spectra using MS Exel (to get wavelength as X axis and FWHM as Y axis) as mention in the document (page 5-6)available in the link http://fsf.nerc.ac.uk/resources/post-processing/library_files/Importing_Spectral_Data_Into_an_ENVI_Spectral_Library_DRAFT.pdf
Thanks in advance

export ROI to ASCII troubles 1277 1
Started by Deleted User
Hello,
I have a point ROI and want to export the values at those points to an ASCII file from multiple 30-band images. It works fine for most files, except those that have no data (NAN) at the ROI location in the first band (even when there are values in the other bands). The output ASCII file indicates the NAN bands correctly in that case but for the bands where there should be values it only shows asteriks.
When spectrally subsetting the bands to export, thereby having a band wi...

WorldView-2 MS1 Radiance Calibration 1567 6
Started by Deleted User
I have several WV-2 scenes that I would like to calibrate to radiance in order to ultimately run them through FLAASH. The data as I have received them are only the "MS1" products, TIFFs that only include the first 4 spectral bands.
When I try to use to the WorldView Radiance utility in ENVI 4.8, I dutifully select the .IMD file associated with the image file but the utility gives me the following error: "Pan-sharpened image products can't be calibrated (metadata bandID=&qu...

MULTIPLE ROI STATISTICS OUTPUT 1211 2
Started by Deleted User
I have been following the community for a while and I still don't see a resolution to this issue.
Is there a way to output the statistics from many ROIs (>1000) to a format readily readable by graphing / statistical packages This seems like it should have been built into ENVI however the output statistic files separate each ROI and all of the data consecutively. Ideally it would output to a text format that has the ROI as rows and band stastistics as columns.... is this possible E...
