I'm processing an image formosat 2, and i have trouble to classified with NN classifier. I'm getting each time the same error message: "READU: end of file encountered.Unit: 101_the location of the file" the result may be invalid.
Please if any one has an answer for that, help me up! THX

I am working with a REDD methodology that calls for measuring transitions between dryland forest degraded dryland forest going back 6 and 10 years. For the 2005-2011 period, I can classify degradation using landsat TM/ETM imagery and field reference data from Feb-11 but have nothing for the prior period. In a more densly forested area one might be able to detect the degradation visually (e.g., using ndvi, band 5s from multiple dates), but here I can’t in most cases so I am flying blind...

Envi EX importing objects for classification 1080 2

Hi All,
Can any of you tell me if it is possible to import objects to classify into ENVI EX/Zoom which were produced in another program, as opposed to segmentation within the program itself
I have a ploygon layer of individual tree crown segements in shapefile format derived LiDAR data.

I've been attempting to apply some cross-track corrections to my airborne hyperspectral data (in the 400-900nm range) in ENVI. Do any of you know how do you dettermine the optimal level of polynomial order to assign to the data Or is this a trial-and-error approach

I have some non-image data which is a collection of 600 different points, non-spatially related and each with 34 unique characteristics having numeric values. If possible I would like to import this data into ENVI as an ASCII file with 600 points and 34 bands, so that i can run an unsupervised classification. Hi. I used ENVI to produce a calibrated radiance image and FLAASH to obtain an atmospherically corrected reflectance Worldview-2 image. My problem is that the output reflectance of FLAASH has negative values. Does anyone know why this is so Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I'm having problems calibrating some Landsat ETMscenes downloaded via EarthExplorer.
The imagefile contains 9 bands (B10, B20, B30, B40, B50, B61, B62, B70 & B80) but ENVI's "Spectral --> Preprocessing --> Calibration Utilities --> Landsat TM" gives an error message saying it can only handle up to 7 bands. I've tried to do a spectral subset of 7/9 of the bands and i've also tried and "restacked" the images to contain only 7 bands. With the restacked images i can be...

I have downloaded PCA_percent_Contri.Sav code from ITT code library and have saved it in save_add directory of Envi4.5. As per instructions given, it should be visible in Basic Tools as Statiscs and Measurements.
I am geeting it at the same place, Please help me
I am trying to calculate percent contribution of each band in each PC.
A help would be highly appreciated.

Hi,
When I use ENVI open ENVIfiles there is no problem, but ENVI IDL appear mistake, why
Problem:An error was encountered reading this header file .
Error:"Attempt to call undefined procedure/function:MAP_PE_CONVERT_DATUM_NAME."
Then popup dialog box:Edit Header File .

I currently received ASTER L1A imagery but I realized its in tif format so I can't load it as an external file in ENVI for processing. Is there a way I can convert this to hdf or still process it in ENVI. Any experience with this

Hi,
I have a PCA image with 30 components. While I try to run PPI it asks for a threshold value. As per the help it says put that value to 2.5 for MNF image. There's no explanation for the PCA images. If I put it same as that of mnf then the output values is not at all in comparision with mnf output. What should be threshold value for PCA or any image

Hello,
I am new to ENVI and have of course quite some questions while getting into the software.
Out of curiosity if it works I tried to open a *.he5 file I retrieved from the OMI Aura datasets.
When I try to open it as a generic external file than it is not shown in the open dialogue because the file extension does not fit. After switching to 'show all files' and choosing the dataset I want to open I get the ENVI error:
File does not appear to be a valid HDF file.

Just a quick question regarding the use of flaash with airborne hyperspectral data. Does it matter wheather you apply the atmospheric correction to the normalised L1b files or to the geocorrected L3 product

Exporting Pixel values to an ASCII file using point shape and ROI tool 1301 0

I am trying to export the pixel data (of all bands to ASCII file or txt file) at random locations of a Hyperspectral image using a point shape file, the shape file has a few random points that intersect the Hyperion (Hyperspectral) image. I found the way to export them using a ROI tool. Now for my project I need to export neighboring pixels too (The neighboring 4 pixels where point data of the shape file is residing). Can anyone give me a few clues how I can perform the task.

Q1:
what is the DATA means in the Cursor Location/Value when I pointed on any point of the image after the whole DEM extraction process finished and I loaded the generated DEM.
i.e: DATA: 49 means what
That's not the elevation data. The elevation data only able to view when I loaded the generated DEM in 3D SurfaceView and we can see the elevation in Cursor Location/Value.

dear All,
I encounter an error using the modis conversion toolkit in ENVI :
I try to reproject a level 3 product (originally in a sinusoidal projection) to a polar stereographic one.
however I get the error message : envi_register_doit; an error occured during processing, "arrays has too many elements" the result may be invalid.
does anybody have an idea why this is occuring

Crash when saving as ESRI GRID 1064 2

I'm using ENVI 4.8 to mosaik 10m DEM files of several counties. When I try to save the final product as an ESRI GRID file ENVI crashes. Has anyone else had this problem or know a fix Thanks in advance for the help.
