Co-occurrence Entropy equation 1514 0
Started by Deleted User
Can anyone explain why the filter/co-occurrence on an 8-bit floating point panchromatic image can yield entropy values of > 1 I understood entropy as explained in: http://www.fp.ucalgary.ca/mhallbey/entropy.htm should not exceed 0.5, yet quick stats on ENVI's filter/co-occurrence entropy gives values that range from 0 to 2.19. Can anyone from ITT-VIS provide the actual entropy equation they are using, instead of just the reference to Haralick Thanks in advance!

Using FLAASH with airborne hyperspectral sensors 1394 6
Started by Deleted User
Hi all,
I've recently had my Specim Eagle and Hawk datasets delivered for my study sites in the UK. I have performed geo-corrections using AZGCORR and now want to atmospherically correct the imagery if possible in FLAASH.
The airborne hyperspectral data is in the correct units of radiance (uW/(cm2*nm*sr)) in the BIL format. Both the Eagle (VIR) and Hawk (thermal) contains ~250 bands at 2nm intervals. Neither of the sensors is listed within the FLAAH settings.
I have made a number of attemp...

HYPERION atmospheric correction 2015 5
Started by Deleted User
Hi,
I have a HYPERION image.I downloaded it a few days ago.I have a few questions to you
1) One of USGS employee told me that some of the image's bands are calibrated and some of are not. What did he/she mean by calibratedIs that mean that calibrated bands are atmospherically corrected
2) Do I have to correct that image atmospherically or is that already corrected
3) When I downloaded the image ,image came with some other files (.met, .aux, .fgdc, .hdr). Does one of these files...

Calculation of carbon loss, carbon content and forest loss, 1144 6
Started by Deleted User
Hello everyone,
Given two images:
· Landsat TM 1998
· Landsate ETM 2001
How can we measure and calculate the following in ENVI:
1. Carbon loss due to forest clearance between 1989 and 2001 (conversion from mature forest to pasture and agricultural land)
2. Carbon content of the forest
3. Forest loss
Thank you
Regards

having one image using different layer. 1172 0

hey, i have a serious prob wish is the combination of 6 layers that represent a classification results for each class. So the goal is to have one image that combine the overall classes for the Accuracy assessment procedure. the same process will be applied to other group of layer for label two (12 layers) and label 3 (18 layers). i tray to use arcgis for that procedure using the mosaic tool, and it doesn't work. Map algebra also doesn't give result (using merge and mosaic function). So please he...

Getting Stat Values from EVF 1244 1
Started by Deleted User
An example of MODIS Image is posted above and overlaid EVF. My question is: how do I get individual statistical values of each polygon in the EVF The sample EVF has five polygons (boundaries) and I want to get the basic stats of eeach area by using a simple polygon. I presume I could it manually by clipping each area but what if I got fifty images Is there a way in which I could get basic stats of each area by using single EVF Thank you.

Problems Calibrating LANDSAT Imagery 1381 1

I am attempting to calibrate some LANDSAT imagery in order to prepare it for atmospheric correction. However, when I select the input file and click 'OK', I get an error message saying: "Problem: Landsat calibration only works with up to six bands of data with the exception of NLAPS TM5." I have attempted to select a spectral subset of less than 6 bands before selecting 'OK', but I still get the error message. Does anyone know what the issue is

Apply identical classification to multiple images? 1163 2
Started by Deleted User
I'd like to apply a classifier developed on one image, image1, to a different image, image2, without training the classifier on image2. That is, apply the classifier (be it MLC, NN, SVM, etc) to image2 as if it were image1. For example, if I believed that there were no spectral differences between the two images, then I should not have to collect training sites and retrain the classifier on image2, I should just be able to directly apply the classifier trained on image1 and expect the same class...
