spectrograph definition file - FWHM factor 1187 1
Started by Deleted User
I am unsure how to determine the FWHM factor required when creating a spectrograph definition file derived from the reference absorption feature. Is it based on the FWHM of the one specific channel where the absorption feature is centred Or is it based on the FWHM of the absorption feature itself, which spans more than one band

How to merge single-band images into one multi-band image 8253 3
Started by Deleted User
Hi!
Does ENVI has a tool for merging single-band images into one multi-band image I have LANDSAT MSS and TM data and I want all of the 4 and accordingly 7 bands to be merged into one file containing all bands. Otherwise I would have to do the mosaicking for every single band separately.
Thanks in advance!

Overlay on 3D surfaceview 828 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi Folks,
I would like to know how to add overlay (e.g. grid, north arrow, scale bar, colorbar...) in the 3d surfaceview of ENVI. I found how to do that for contour lines, but not for features previously mentioned.
Thank you for any feedback!

Band Threshold to ROI 1328 2
Started by Deleted User
Hi everyone
I want to know how can determinate Min Thresh Value and Max Thresh Value in the Band Threshold to ROI box. Already I determine value above from -20 to -3, but I don't know on base of which equation working this threshold. If somebody knows please tell me how can define Min and Max thresh value Please tell me with equation, because I need it on base of scientific solution. I will be please if you help me.
Best Hadi

subseting area of interest 888 2

Good afternoon,
i have remote sensing data on .tif format representing a very vast area and i have also my area of interest, which is included in the .tif data, in shapefile format. Is there any way by using the shapefile information to some how extract this specific area that i'm interested in in order to reduce the volume of data in ENVI
Thank you for your time

From fid to array 1001 1
Started by Deleted User
Dear community,
I have following problem. I want to stack two (or more) masks (each with three pixel values: 0,11 and 14) with the help of ENVIIDL. My testcode works at now with only 2 masks whose pixel-sizes and scene-sizes are different (for that reason the /EXCLUSIVE-command). The code works right until the last few lines. I want to get an three-dimensional array (img_stacked) with the two band-layers each with the same x and y dimension (the one from the bigger mask).
I'm an IDL-beg...

unsupervised classification and masking with evf. 1060 0

Hello,
I want to do an unsupervised classification and want to mask out certain areas that have no vegetation. I have these no vegetation areas in a evf. file. When I open the unsupervised classification for ISO I can put in select by subset BUT than it will only analyze the evf ROI and that's the opposite of what I want to do. When I hit mask band, the same thing happens it analyse only the areas in the evf file.
How can I analyse all areas in the image EXCEPT for the areas in the evf ...

Hello everyone ,this is my first post here and i would like to ask if there is a way to use a multispectral image as panchromatic.I have a QuickBird multispectral image and i want to use it as panchromatic.I am using band math to calculate the average of three bands and making a new image .I would like to know if the programm is taking the new image as panchromatic or multispectral.
Thank you in regard.

Topographic normalization 1693 3
Started by Deleted User
Dear users
I'm wondering if someone of you has developed some adds for topographic normalization to eliminate shadowing present in mountainous satellite images.
I need to eliminate these shadows to perform a more precise classification, but I'm unable to find a correct procedure on the net, and I haven't found any tools available on ENVI software to apply this kind process.
Many thanks for any help and/or suggestions

I am very new to this forum, I am trying atmospherically correct Landsat TM using the FLAASH Module of ENVI. I ahve been getting some problem and need your suggestions
1. what should be a radiance scale factor, and whether it should be ally to all bands in one time or it should be implemented band by band. But I use this as 10 because I read it in some of posts in the forum.
2. In FLAASH parameters, I am confuse about Ground Elevation(km) what does that mean and I can not f...

Duplicate ROI? 993 4
Started by Deleted User
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows if ther is a way to duplicate an ROI, but in a different location in the same TIFF image
I am trying to select 3 ROI's of equal area but it is impossible to do it manually, I can get close but not exact! I tried editing the pixel size in the ROI tool and it was a no go. I couldn't find anything in the help, so I'm hoping someone knows how to do such a thing.
Thanks in advance!

PCA - select subset from eigenvalues 1220 1
Started by Deleted User
I am running PCA on 160-band data. Is there a way to select a non-contiguous subset of eigenvalues I don't just want the first 10 or so PCA bands, I want a set of individual bands (7, 10, 22, 34, etc.). I know I can spectrally subset the final output, but I want to perform an inverse transformation and I'm not sure how to exclude all of the other components. Thoughts
