ERROR: The activation ID specified cannot have its copies increased

 

This error can occur when activating a local license. It may look similar to the following:

 Failed to activate XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

 2016-11-16 19:00:54

 CLL Error

   Error Code: -1

   Error Message: CLLActivateLicense: status - category: public, code: 61 (The activation ID specified cannot have its copies increased), details: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

 ------------------------------------------

 

CAUSE: This error can occur when attempting to activate a local  license that has expired from Maintenance. While most of our licenses are perpetual, an active Maintenance contract is required to transfer the license between computers or to make licensing changes on your existing computer

 

SOLUTION: Please contact your license administrator to resolve this issue. If you are the license administrator, please contact your Maintenance representative.
