FLAASH questions 1174 2
Started by Deleted User
Mari (and anyone else),
I would like to be able to use FLAASH to correct some Hyperion data where acceptable results have already been achieved by someone, and I'd like to be able to see the input parameters they used to get those results. So then I can compare my FLAASH results to theirs to see if i'm using FLAASH correctly. Do you have a dataset like this you could give me Or know where I could get one
I've downloaded sample Hyperion data of Cuprite from the EO-1 website, but all th...

Spectral Classification Question 1178 1
Started by Deleted User
I have an image containing spectral data that I would like to colourize the pixels in based on whether certain absorption lines are present, and I have been told that there is a way to do this automatically in ENVI rather than having to manually look at every pixel in the image. Is there a way to do this

accessing individual bands from a layerstack in IDL 1256 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi,
I have a layerstack created in ENVI. It contains about 5 bands. In an IDL script, i am able to create a layerstack, but i am not able to figure out how to access individual bands from a layerstack in an IDL code.
I'm assuming its relatively simple, but am not able to figure it out.
Any ideas
Raghu

Convolve lab spectra to ASTER spectral resolution 1459 1
Started by Deleted User
I need help using ENVI to convolve my lab spectra to the resolution of the ASTER instrument. I have ASCII files will all the spectral data and I am able to import this data into the ENVI spectra viewer. Can someone get me started as to how to make this more complex spectra look like an ASTER spectra Thanks, Nick

Effect of changing kernel sizes when applying a Super GLT 1227 0
Started by Deleted User
I am trying to georeference some MASTER scenes acquired in mountainous areas using a Super GLT file. The output georeferenced image does not compare well with other orthorectified images. Has anyone looked into what the effect is when the kernel sizes are changed If so, then I look forward to hearing from you. In the meantime, all the best!

code writing in IDL - help needed 1072 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi all
My name is tamir a PhD student on the cross road of marine biology and remote sensing.
I’m currently looking for someone with IDL knowledge to write a short code for a procedure I’m trying out. Is short and shouldn’t take long to undertake.
If anyone wants to rise to this challenge (massive favour for me) please contact me at the below address.
Many thanks for listening.

Histogram bin size in ENVI statistics 1979 1
Started by Deleted User
Hello there,
How I can change the bin size (step) for ENVI histogram to make it bigger As I understood the default is 0.23529 for 256 bins and I need it to be 16 to normalized the histogram to 16 ranges.
I saw that there is an option in ENVI preferences but its about Max Histogram Bins and I cannot make it smaller that 256.

Defining wavelength 1427 1
Started by Deleted User
I'm working with a Landsat Image that was calibrated and georectified in Imagine. I'd like to run some spectral indices, but it says my Wavelengths are defined. How would I go about defining the wavelength I poked around in the header, but the wavelengths are all blank.
Cheers,
Daniel

Feature Extraction module--followup 1325 0
Started by Deleted User
hi--I know I just posted this question, but I wanted to ask again since I've got a project coming up and wanted to see if I can make some progress.
When I run the supervised classification in Envi Zoom, with a couple of objects defined, it classifies the ENTIRE landscape--how can I just have it select like objects Shouldn't there be a membership threshold, or something on that idea I'm probably just missing something.
Thanks again--
Steve

Feature Extraction questions--supervised classification? 1238 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi--just started using the FX module to pick out certain features in an archaeological landscape (namely settlement mounds). I'm not trying to break down the entire landscape into land types--just pick out these specific features. I've defined two types of settlement mounds. However, when I run the classification, it classifies the entire image based on my 2 categories, rather than just identifying matching features.
I'm trying both the K algorithm and the Support Vector Means (SVM) algori...

vector (evf) questions 1248 1
Started by Deleted User
Two questions:
1) Is there a size limit on EVF files (since it uses a DBF, I think that may cause a 2GB limit)
2) Are there functions availalbe to subset, crop, or split EVF files
&91I'd like to convert a raster to vector - in ArcGIS I'm prevented due to a 2GB limit on shape files. For a couple reasons I think it would be more convenient to convert to vector and later split it up into a few chunks for ArcGIS rather than split the original raster and work with multiple vector fil...

ASTER projection question 1623 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi--I have some ASTER imagery that I'm using for a research project. It is my understanding that the ASTER imagery is projected using the WGS 84 ellipsoid, and when I bring it into a product like ArcGIS or Grass, this is what I get.
However, for some reason when I import the image into ENVI, it registers as 1927. When I reproject in some other software package back to WGS84, the projection is misaligned. Could anyone tell me why the ASTER imagery defaulting to 1927 projection
Thanks ve...

Question on feature extraction 935 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi--I'm just trying out the new FX module, and it seems pretty impressive. Couple of questions, though.
1. Can it be used to identify pseudo-linear features, such as rivers/canals/etc I wasn't quite sure how to get this to work--I tried with the Intelligent DIgitizer, but I don't think that's exactly what I'm looking for since the channels are dififcult to pick out.
Also, is there any literature--besides the help files--on how to use the attributes, and what each one does The rule se...

orthorectification of ASTER L1B before or after FLAASH ? 1435 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi,
I had a quick look on this subject but I couldn't find much info. Should I do the orthorectification of ASTER L1B data before or after FLAASH atmospheric correction regarding to keep the spectral response intact
The second question: Is it common to see some negative values in ASTER reflectance data processed by FLAASH Should I make any process for those negative values before spectral hourglass wizard
Thank you

classify by highest response values 1125 0
Started by Deleted User
This seems like an obvious need, so maybe there is already a simple tool available that I'm just not seeing.
Say that I have 3 response surfaces and want to create a classification layer that shows which of the response surfaces is greatest at any given set of coordinates (pixels). How
Thanks!
