layerstacking and mosaic 1441 1
Started by Deleted User
Colleagues!
I am new to ENVI and a bit confused with the layer stacking and mosaic tools. The thing is i have calibrated my image into (radiance, reflectance and brightness temp) and these files are in separate files which means for me to use them - say for classification i need to have one single file. What i did was i layer stacked them and ended up with a lot of bands on the spectral info under the metadata tab, but i was interested in getting less say 7 bands. What could have happened. How d...

Creating a Spectral Library 1305 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi Everyone,
I would like to build a spectral library in order to be able to perform supervised classification on some hyperspectral images. Using an SWIR Hyperspectral camera and a point spectrometer, I collected data of a rack of many different sample materials for the spectral library. I need to be able to pick out each sample in the Hyperspectral image manually, and combine this with the point spectrometer data. What is the best way to go about this The photos were taken terrestrialy (ie n...

Version Compatibility (ENVISARscape) 1731 2
Started by Deleted User
Hello, dear all
I know different versions of ENVI and/or SARscape might be able to coexist in Windows system. Is it possible to choose the desired version under this coexistence for specific purpose For example, I might need to interchange between SARscape 5.0 and 5.1 for my works. I'm not sure whether or not (or how) ENVI can manage to do it. I would very appreciate your responses or comments. Thank you very much.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

SVM - floating point pixel type 2646 3
Started by Deleted User
I have some troubles understanding the problem I encounter when trying to classify an aerial image where shadows have been removed.
I created a mask by thresholding all shadows in my RGBNIRNDVI raster composite. The mask is a tif file (unsigned integer) with nodata values within the shadows and the value 1 for everything outside the shadows.
Using raster calculator (ArcMap) I multiplied each raster band (also unsigned integer) of my multiband composite individually with the mask to...

Post Classification 1431 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi,
I couldn't find a toolbox for Confusion Matrix as shown below in my ENVI 5.0.
From the Toolbox, select Classification > Post Classification > Confusion Matrix Using Ground Truth Image.
Is there any other alternative that I can use to generate confusion matrix for accuracy assessment purpose
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

2D Scatter Plots of Spatial Sub-sets 1357 1
Started by Deleted User
Hello All,
I'm a relative newcomer to ENVI. I'm trying to create 2D scatter-plots of small spatial sub-sets within a scene; ideally, I'd like to have 4-5 spatial sub-sets, and display them in different colours within a scatter plot to visualise trends.
Ultimately, I'd really like to produce a matrix of scatter plots showing the same data sets; I've seen this done before in MatLab and other packages.
Would any of this be possible within ENVI without bespoke IDL code If so, what's the best way ...

Hi, I'm receiving the same error message every time I try to run FLAASH on a Landsat 8 image. I radiometrically corrected the image using FLAASH output parameters. ENVI 5.2 and 5.1 (classic) give me the same error message:

Problems of projection of AMSR-E Sea Ice Concentration product 1647 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi all,
My problem is how to project AMSR-E Sea Ice Concentration product(http://www.iup.uni-bremen.de:8084/amsredata/asi_daygrid_swath/n6250/). This product has a hdf format, and I save it as a ENVI standard format.
According to readme file of this product, its projection is "NSIDC Sea Ice Polar Stereographic North", whose datum is D_Hughes_1980 supported by the projection engine. So, I add "Hughes_1980, 6378273.0, 6356889.449" to the end of ellipse.txt, "D_H...

FLAASH ENVI4.7 and Landsat 8 (unknown sensor) 1590 1
Started by Deleted User
Hello,
I'm working with ENVI 4.7 to do my atmospheric correction with FLAASH. I use a Landsat 8 scene (which contains especially a lake) and implemented Landsat 8 as an unknown senor (using a self created spectral library in ENVI). And now I have a few questions to the multispectral settings. May someone can explain me the "Index to first band"! I looked at the implemented filter functions to get an overview about this value. But I'm not exactly sure about this. And another question:...

What bands do ROI&39;s include 1125 2
Started by Deleted User
I am having a hyperspectral image with 72 bands.
I opened it as true color using 3 of those bands.
When I map the area with ROI's and want to use them for classification, will the ROI's actually contain all the 72 bands, or just the bands that are currently displayed
Ex: Would the ROI contain different values if I have a false composite showing using NIR bands vs having a true composite using the Visible Light bands

problem of using ENVI_ENTER_DATA 1234 3

I am new user of envi user function. I am facing a problem in using ENVI_ENTER_DATA. I have an float array (i tried byte array as well) it has values max. to 100. when i tried to display them using ENVI_ENTER_DATA it just show a black screen(same if i write an image file). But if i use the random vector and display it it works fine with same command. Surprising for me is that when i open this .img file in matlab it shows the different values. the code looks like this

obtaining pixel size programmaticaly? 5243 1

Hi folks,
I have been 'away' from IDL/ENVI for some time, and coming back up to speed from a three year hiatus! Glad to see the ENVI API appears much improved and expanded from what I remember - however, I am now a bit 'lost'!
I have the need to read in a ENVI raster programmatically in an IDL function. I can see from the documentation how to open the raster, how to obtain the metadata.. but I am not seeing how to view the header information programmatically, where the pixel size is (hopeful...

Giving a legend to band ratios 1455 5

Hello community.
First please see this screenshot:

What I am trying to do is to map road conditions. I am referencing this paper:
http://www.geogr.uni-jena.de/~c5hema/urbanspec/av04_roadmapping_heroldetal.pdf
As they mentioned in the paper (page 11/15), they have used the band ratio 830/490. It seems I have got a very similar result as they have. However, as you can see they somehow introduced a color coded legend for the roads (everything else like trees and ...

Combining multiple images into 1 1606 2
Started by Deleted User
I've been trying to figure how to use multiple hyperspectral images in order to do some supervised classification work. While in ENVI 5.2 you can "tile" the multiple images, you still cannot work on all of them.
Is there a way to tile all my images into 1 single image, so I can then do all my work on it
