I'm trying to run TMCAL_DOIT to batch process a series of Landsat MSS images. ENVI seems to be able to process the image when the raster is opened using the old style metadata, but fails when using the new style metadata file. In the latest version of ENVI (5.0 SP2) I can use the Radiometric Correction tool and it works with the new style metadata, but I don't know what the ENVIIDL function is that corresponds to the toolbox routine that works and I don't want to have to run the tool hundreds...

Hi all,
I have tried searching through the ENVI SVM information and was unable to find an answer/guidance to this. Hopefully someone here knows. It appears that ENVI uses a pairwise comparison for multi-class SVM classifications (per the Help documents) by default. Is there a way to change that to another comparison method (such as one-against-one or one-against-all)

I am using the MODIS Conversion Toolkit to load MODIS MOD10A1 Daily Snow Albedo data into ENVI for comparison with airborne hyperspectral data we collected this past winter.
The MODIS toolkit helpfully re-projects the 500-m MOD10A1 from sinusoidal to geographic. However, when I load my 5-m hyperspectral data, the hyperspectral data is also reprojected but not correctly. 2 MTL files in Landsat 1557 3

Dear Envi Users,
I have found 2 meta files in the Landsat images, LT51420402011292KHC00_MTL.txt and LT51420402011292KHC00_MTLold.txt.
I opened these files and the content are different, not totally but some lines are more or some parameters are more. When i try to open File >> Open External File >> Landsat >> Geotiff with metadata. I can't open the file which is LT51420402011292KHC00_MTL.txt, i get a warning like

Hi,
I'm trying to register a LISS-III image using a Landsat 5 TM already registered from Geocover dataset.
I'm having a problem, the output image is all black, no data in.
Since the spatial resolution from the LISS (23,5m) and the TM (30m) are different, this is what I'm doing:
First: ENVI --> MAP --> Registration --> Select GCPs Image to Image : I select the points (GCPs) to register and then I save.

I'm trying to run a feature extraction on a large aerial mosaic using the custom colour space bands (HSI) for the segmentation step. when I use quick statistic of a scene containing black borders; the minimum pixel values always 0 I know this is the value of the black border. My questions are:
1- How to calculate the statistics of the scene avoiding the black areas at the border
2- How to calculate statistics for a region of interest (ROI)

Here's the deal:
Several of us have noticed that, when running ENVI (4.8 or Classic) on 64-bit Linux systems in order to create GLTs, there is one item that helps to create GLTs many times faster. Strangely enough, it has to do with setting the "Customizations" and not using the defaults.

Brightness temperature from level 1b MODIS 1501 1

Hello,
I am using MODIS level 1b and trying to extract the brightenss temperature for bands 31,32 to calculate SST. The ENVI gives me values of the emissive band 31 about 10000 when i don't use auto-correct MODIS(which make use of gain and offset) and about 9 when i use it! Is it normal I don't think that these values are radiances. I am confused. Any help would be appreciable!

Hi There,
I'm a relatively new ENVI user so pardon my unfamiliarity with the user interface.
I'm trying to calculate albedo from reflectance imagery. My approach is to use Apply Gain and Offset utility in Radiometric Correction. When I open the utility, I can manually enter irradiance values for each band. However, there are 360 bands and I would prefer to import the 360 irradiance values as a vector in a text file (or csv). Is there a way to do this ENVI

Hey Guys,
ich have installed ENVI 5.0 and Sarscape
First ENVI starts, when I was clicking the button. But today, when I was clicking the Button of ENVI 64bit, the ENVI Screen came up, but then there was a warning " Expression must be a scalar or 1 element in this context: " The only Option is to click "OK" an then ENVI shuts down.
What I've tried:
-Search the Internet, but I couldn't find any solution
-Delete Temp Data

Running QUAC with toa reflectances of Landsat TM 1604 8

Hello,
I'm trying to run QUAC with 6-bands landsat imagery, previously calibrated to reflectance using ENVI Landsat Calibration tool.
The result for every band is a black image with each pixel value 0. I edited the header files with wavelenghts etc., I cut the edges of the image to have 'no data' or ******** values outside the image, I tried also to rescale the reflectance values and I even tried to change the file format but the result is still the same.

Hello I am trying to create simple SAV file. But I have got some problem with it's running.
I do next steps:
1. I had create simple function and saved it's as test.pro

I have two files: a landsat tile (ENVI standard) and a training dataset (ENVI classification filetype). The landsat envi standard file is currently a larger extent than the training dataset.
For use in a separate program (EnMap-Box), I need the two files to be the same extent.

Please share me the steps if anybody has georeferenced the scanned topomap in ENVI 5 (in new single window GUI). In the topomap LAT/ LONG gridline is available and we have to georeference the topomap using the LAT/ LONG value mentioned within the map itself.
