FLAASH problems with ASTER L1B data 2533 3
Started by Deleted User
Hi my dear friends,
I tried many times to use FLAASH atmospheric correction on ASTER L1B radiance at sensor imagery data, I followed ENVI 4.8 tutorial step by tep:
1- Opening hdf file, rotate the scene to North, layerstacking VNIR and SWIR bands, change the layers interleave from BSQ to BIL; all data are in floatpoint format.
2- launching FLAASH and input the layer stack, output, output directrory and root name.
3- Other parameters are as follow:
Scene Center (26.576913, 33.522527), Sensor ...

coordinate system string vs. map info 1132 1
Started by Deleted User
I'm using ENVI and I'm seeing what I think is strange behavior.
I created a GLT using ENVI.
There are both map info and coordinate system string keywords in this file.
The map info looks like:
map info = {UTM, 1.000, 1.000, 268611.764, 7503156.666, 1.6000000000e00, 1.6000000000e00, 56, South, WGS-84, units=Meters}
The coordinate system string looks like:
coordinate system string = {PROJCS&91"UTM_Zone_56S",GEOGCS&91"GCS_WGS_1984",DATUM&91"D_WGS_1984",SP...

Improving RGB Feature extraction results 1166 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi folks,
I'm using Envi to run a series of feature extractions on very high resolution mosaic aerial photos (5cm and under resolution), and I'm running in to some problems. I'm specifically trying to isolate two classes from my image - vegetation from bare ground, but my imagery is only visible spectrum RGB, so I don't have very many bands to play with. Also, since I'm not isolating unnatural from natural features, there's not much by ways of purely spatial information (feature size, shape, et...

How to add sav file to ENVI? 1949 3
Started by Deleted User
As far as I now SAV file is a compiled code of IDL. So I have got next questions:
1. Do I need IDL license to use sav files
2. How I can install sav file to ENVI

Multiple Landsat Scenes in Envi 1245 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi Everyone,
I'm currently looking at landcover changes across a huge area in the Congo, the region spans across 4 Landsat scenes, is there anyway in ENVI to link these scenes together as i want to make a classification from a region of interest that crosses all 4 scenes. Is this possible or is there anyway to get round this.
Thanks James,

How to make spatial/spectral subsets the same? 1195 2
Started by Deleted User
Hi -
I'm trying to preprocess two images using an ENVI extention (IR-MAD). When I run the workflow, though, it gives me an error that says "Spectra/spatial subsets different", and I can't seem to figure out the problem. They're both high-resolution quickbird images. They are orthorectified, and had slightly different pixel sizes, but I fixed that using the "resize data" tool. I've also clipped them to the same extent in arcGIS, but I'm still encountering problems with their...

Problem adding function to ENVI menu 1328 6
Started by Deleted User
Greetings, I wrote some code to create a cloud-free mask via the model in Oreopoulos et al. (2011). I got the basic function, CalcLandsat57cloudmask, to work find from command line, but am unable to add the function anywhere on the ENVI menu (4.x and ENVI Classic). Basically it involves three PRO files:
1. CalcLandsat57cloudmask_buttons_1 - adds the button to the menu and calls the second PRO. The code currently puts it in the "Filter" menu, even though I'd rather put it elsewhere, ...

Sum class bands 1308 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi,
I'm working with ENVI 4.5.
I create 7 classification bands (images). Every class have his own image(band). I want put together them in one band(image) and keep the class name and number! Could you suggest something
I tried Band math. Result, all classes have the same value. I tried to multiply every class band by class number, not work, i think the reason is that the class band is in byte format. I tried sum class number, it works but background is (class number minus 1), then i mask out...

Polarimetric Signature Bug 1007 0
Started by Deleted User
Hello there!
I'm running Envi 4.8 IDL. I have RADARSAT-2 data, which I have imported into envi. Now, I want to find the polarimetric signature for a particular location. I input the co-ordinates found using google Earth, into the pixel locator, which provides me the pixel co-ordinates. Then, I select the Polarimetric Signatire tool. I input the HH,HV,VH,VV files, then provide the pixel as the geo-reference point. Till there, it's okay, but when I select the Cartographic System, I can see in I...

Warp ROI or Vector Files 1319 1
Started by Deleted User
I have a large number of ROI files which were created on a non-georegistered image. I have since georegistered this image, but cannot warp the ROIs to the new image. I have tried the 'reconcile ROI via map' but this just places the ROI file in an incorrect place on the new image (I changed the header file on the original image to match the geographic corners, coordinate system, and geo tie point of the new image) . Is this the right procedure, or am i doing something wrong or missing a step Is...

Dark Subtraction issues 1147 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi-
I'm trying to use dark subtract to atmospherically correct some high-res images I have. I'm having a few issues:
1) My files are rather large, in an .ntf format. When I enter them into the workflow, my ENVI window basically stops functioning and I have to force quit. Do the files need to be in a certain format, or under a certain size to work I did a spatial subset of my image, about 1/5 of the actual size, and it worked as a .tif but not as an .ntf so I'm guessing .ntf isn't a compatible...

env*.tmp-bsq 1323 0
Started by Deleted User
In creating GLTs, we notice that on some of our platforms (Linux) there are files named env*.tmp-bsq that get created in temp directories (/tmp unless this is changed). Whereas on Mac (Intel, 64 bit) running Lion, despite doing a search while GLTs are being made, we don't find such a file, even in /tmp.
Question: on a Mac, are temporary files such as env*.tmp-bsq created If not, why are they created under Linux

Spectral Math 1231 3
Started by Deleted User
Hello,
I have hiperspectral image (72b). Image have cloud shadows, some regions have lover intensity. I imagine that i could equalize it by every image pixel divide by every pixel mean value. Could i perform it in spectral math My expression what i wrote is s1/mean(s1), for s1 i use the Map Variable to input file and select image. The result not satisfied me. So, i think i dont understand spectral math tool so well.

Illuminate certain points in an image 1229 1

Hi there!
So basically, I have a RADARSAT-2 image, from which I have processed data, and from the ROI tool, I output to ASCII a matrix of elements. After processing it in MATLAB, I am left with certain lat/long values. Is there any way I can mark/color these points in the image from the file
