How do I access a rater attribute table? 1160 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi, all --
I am a newbie to ENVI, but what I've seen so far of ENVI 5.0 is really impressive and I want to adapt my remote sensing course to use it. I have been unable, however, to find anything in ENVI analogous to the raster attribute table of ERDAS. If I have a thematic image -- e.g. a raster soils map -- where a significant attribute is the soil series, how do I show these attributes It would seem that ENVI is a lot more flexible than ERDAS on continuous images, and there's the "c...

Overlay ROI files? 1256 1
Started by Deleted User
I'm new to remote sensing and ENVI. I have two images, one a panchromatic aerial photo and one a NAIP image, that I am using to look at changes in treeline/tree density. I have already identified all the ROI's I need in each image. Is there any way to overlay two separate ROI files I thought it would be an effective way to show any change--to have the ROI's from the earlier image overlaid upon the more recent image. Maybe this is not possible Thank you in advance for your insight.

Creating a Simple Orthographic Map 1354 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi, I'm new to ENVI but am familiar with the IDL MAP_SET commands used to create an orthographic map of the globe and display it.
So I have a very basic question. How does one go about creating and displaying such a map in ENVI.
I found some online docs about creating an empty image and then defining a map projection for that image. I did this and picked "Create World Boundaries" (Under the ENVI "Vector" Menu). But the results do not look correct. It's not Orthogra...

NED DEM will not display in ENVI 1100 1
Started by Deleted User
I'm a novice ENVI user and I am having trouble opening a USGS NED DEM. I have an 1/3 arc second NED DEM that was downloaded as GeoTiff, mosaicked and projected to UTM zone 18 in ArcGIS. I am now trying to open it in ENVI. I have tried the .tif file, the world file (.tfw) and neither have worked. I either get a "not a valid file" message or the file opens but displays with every pixel the same value (a flat grey image). I have tried to open it using Open Image menu item and the To...

Any idea correcting this in ENVI or any other application.

Apply Forward MNF Transform to Spectra 883 1
Started by Deleted User
I applied a forward MNF transform to ASD spectra in order to create an MTMF classification endmember. The MNF scores range from -40 to 40 for the ASD transformed spectra while the MNF transformed HyMap image has scores that on average range from -2 to 2. (I first resampled the ASD spectra to HyMap bands before applying an MNF transform). I checked to make sure that the number of input bands used to calculate the statistics for the HyMap MNF transform was the same as the number of output bands.

Apply multiple masks in a single multitemporal classification 1090 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi All,
I want to classify 5 Landsat images together, of the same path/row but of different date. What I used to do is to stack the images together and the result in this case is one images with 30 bands (6 bands per image). But in order to classify them all I have normally to apply one mask.
What I am wondering is… if it possible to apply different masks (0 or 255 value to particular pixels) to different images, and then to classify them all together.
In that case I am thinking that ...

But I dont know how orthorectify my image correctly. I tried Orthorectification with RCP, but the result is wrong. I dont know wh...

Need help to interpret the header file parameters of an epipolar image 1154 2
Started by Deleted User
Hi,
I want to know how to transform between image coordinates epipolar image coordinates in DEM extraction.
It seems all the parameters need to achieve this purpose are inside the header file, as I attached to the end of this email.
but I don't know how to interpret all the parameters inside the header file, such as: adj coef, dlt coef,kx, ky,parallax correction.
what's they mean How can I use these parameters to achieve the transformation
Thank you,
Regards,
Chris,

Output to ASCII 2007 3
Started by Deleted User
Hello,
I'm exporting many QuickBird Images into ASCII XYZ format. The problem is the file is way too large, 1-2 GB. I'm only interested in the pixel values that represent some physical meaning and not the zero values. Is there a way to leave out the zero values when exporting to an ASCII I'm also using IDL to do this, so I'm open to IDL code.
Thanks
