Running an IDL script from ENVI GUI 1546 0
Started by Deleted User
Hi all,
I have an IDL script which uses ENVI routines. I want to be able to run the IDL script on two or three machines but due to license limitations, i'm able to use only one IDL license at a time. However, we do have more than 5 ENVI licenses which means i can use ENVI on multiple machines. This brings me to my question.
Since ENVI is completely written in IDL, can i open the ENVI GUI and run an IDL script from ENVI without having to use IDL We have ENVIIDL license. Just like how a Python...

extracting desert vegetation from a quickbird image--will this work? 987 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi--
I have a thought (still new to this), and wanted it to run it by the experts--please let me know if I'm going about this correctly!
I'm doing some archaeology in the desert, and trying to study erosional processes, etc.&160; I have some quickbird imagery--2.5m multispectral and .6m panchromatic.&160; Individual desert shrubs can be picked out on the panchromatic imagery, just generally inferred on the ms.&160;
What I want to do is create a raster showing vegetation density, but someti...

Creating a big 2D array in ENVI batch mode 1278 1
Started by Deleted User
I asked the same question ITTVIS technical support but this topic might be interesting for the whole community as well.
I use a quite big 2d array (15000*20000) in batch mode routine that suppose to use ENVIs libraries (ENVI_DOIT).
ns=15000
nl=20000
D = make_array(ns,nl, /double)
and then even before any processing step I get following message:
Unable to allocate memory: to make array.
Not enough space
So the question is that - did I reach some array's limitations and...

Problems georefencing 1600 2
Started by Deleted User
Hello all
&160;
My question for today is the following.
&160;
I am georeferencing Spot images from an hidrography and a road layer. I just want to improve the match since this images are already georeferenced. I am trying the RST and Polynomial degree=1 methods, and the Nearest neighbor and the Bilinear interpolation for the intensity interpolation. When comparing the new images I found that the georefence was different between the nearest nighbor and the Bilinear interpolated images. I wa...

I've been trying an atmospheric correction for SPOT4 data using FLAASH. The problem is it required ASCII file containing wavelength of SPOT. I created text file having one colume containing wavelength of SPOT4 (band center). I showed up an error messgae. Anyone here know how to solve this please help me

Georeferencing in mountain area 1345 5
Started by Deleted User
Dear All
&160;
I would like some feedback in how best georeference images from very mountanous areas. I am working with SPOT and Landsat images and I am doing and Image-to-map registration, so they fit better the maps I am using for analysis.
Can any body give me suggestions regarding the method (RST, polynomial etc) and the resampling procedures

Thank you

two questions 1219 0

Hi--
First of all, wondering how to create an albedo image from Quickbird Imagery&160; I believe it's the square root of the sum of squares of all bands, but I thought this was supposed to be a value between 0 and 1&160; Thanks
Also, I've been reading up on how to remove shade/shadow from images using endmembers--but as I'm a novice to all this I find it fairly confusing.&160; I'm starting to grasp it theoretically, but could I get some advice as to how do manage this in ENVI
Thanks!

Merry Christmas.
A problem in MODIS.sli of ENVI 4.3 and 4.5.
I want to get the&160;&160; Center wavelength of MODIS 36 bands, and I used modis.sli file to calculate.
there exists little error in modis.sli. the value of band1 and band2 is reversed in envi 4.3.
seems also made mistakes in&160; band 27 and band28 .
in literatures about MODIS, band 27 wavelength is between 6.535 - 6.895 micrometer,
while band 28 wavelength&160; is between 7.175 and&160; 7.475 microm...

ENVI Feature Extraction Vector always with pixel-based projection 1315 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi all,
I'm currently using the ENVI Zoom Feature Extraction module with SPOT5 images. The images have&160;a projection and fall into the right location within ArcGIS.
I went trough the process of segmenting and merging the images until&160;the point where I have to decide, => classify or export the created vector file.
I choose, export - give&160;the shapefile a name and include attribute data....
Now, the vector file doens't get any projection and is pixel based, which means I can't add...

I just downloaded the modis conversion toolkit.zip file from the code library in order to GUI/ programmatically georeference MODIS images. The zip file does not seem to contain the convert_modis_data.sav file which is required for the batch processing routine in IDL. The zip file only contains the user guide and the modis_conversion_toolkit.sav file which goes into the ENVI/ save_add directory. Am i missing something here The convert_modis_data.sav file is supposed to be placed in the ...

long version: i use roi tool to determine small regions from cube1 and then save it . Then i do the the same forcube2. When i restore both rois, envi restores all the regions from&160; the current cube (cube2) and not...

Basic Statistics 1406 2

Hello everyone.
&160;
I am new to ENVI and so I am trying to find my way around and so far so good. However, I have a question regarding the output of the Basic Tools/Computing statistics module. I have asked the program to calculate the Covariance and so in the output it shows the covariance and the correlation matrix, the eigenvalues and the eigenvectors.
So far I haven't been able to find out how were the correlation coeficients calculated. Meaning what statistic was used.
I addition I a...
