I was exploring the tutorial video on ENVI website and found that processing data will classify the point cloud automatically.However, I found that there is no function as "show point features as classification" in my software.
I am wondering why is it disabled in my version ofsoftware I've attached the screenshot.

Hi, I am trying to perform a simple task: Clipping and export a point cloud (LAS format) from a forest area, by height. My point cloud is between 81- and 91-meters height. I want to produce a point cloud of the same area, also in LAS format, but only with the points that populate the zone between 83.50- and 84-meters height. ENVi Lidar--estimating tree heights 8080 5

I am a M.S. student and plan on using ENVI Lidar as part of my thesis research in estimating tree height/canopy cover from Lidar data. I am not sure if the information is proprietary, but is there a way to find out/better understand how ENVI Lidar calculates the tree heights as part of processing the data I cannot seem to find information on the algorithm. Any information would be helpful and thank you!

Hello, I have a set of point clouds extracted from two images and saved in LAZ format. Once imported in EnviLidar, the color intensity is very low and hence the point cloud appears almost black in the main window. Even if this is not a problem for the ortophoto (it can be stretched in ENVI), it is quite annoing when I try to do some QA on the processed data. Any suggestion to stretch data in order to get a proper visualization of color data Thank you, Luca

Hello. My name is Lucas and I'm a beginner user of ENVI LiDAR. I was wondering if anyone here could help me with point cloud classification. I need to classify a forest area in 3 levels (strata): trees (above 1.3 meters); shrubs (between 0.75 m and 1.29m) and grasses (under 0.75m), each one represented by a different color. I read some guides but isn't clear for me yet how to do it in Envi lidar, can someone give me this little help or indicate a specific guide/tutorial

Hi there,
I am trying to generate DSM (1m) and DEM (2m) from LIDAR data, but the problem I am experiencing is that the resulting DSM and DEM have one half pixel shifted. I tried to change extent in multiple ways but I was not successful.
Any suggestions.

Hello,
I've been working with the freely-available LiDAR DEM for the UK (UK LiDAR DEM) which uses the British National Grid projection (EPSG:27700) and is available in laz format (compressed laz files).
I've found one issue with it:
If I open the laz file, and in the Convert Format window set the input projection system to EPSG:27700, the elevations are different from when I click on Advanced and select the British National Grid projection. Although both projections are supposed to be the same...

Hi,
I'm attempting to Batch process LAS tiles through Envi Lidar.
I can successfully run Envi Lidar and process Ortho, DEM, DSM, Trees, Power Lines and Contours.
Is it possible to run this script automatically for every .las file in a certain directory

Hi all,
I'm creating IDL scripts to allow the automation and scheduling of turning LAS data into raster data, and am fairly new to IDL scripting. It can be done with these ( http://bcal.boisestate.edu/tools/lidar)extensions from Boise Idaho with the ENVI interface pulled up, but I want to be able to do this with ENVI headless. Can I use a part of the ENVI API and functions to call an extension, or do I need to re-write the source code of the extensions

I had a question regarding ENVI LiDAR, in the ENVI window while viewing the point could or the vectors for various features there is an option to save the view as a picture in powerpoint or as a .bmp image. I wanted to know if it is possible to define the resolution (300 dpi or more) for the publication purposes and how is it done. The current dpi I am seeing is around 72.

Hello,
I have already classified .las files.
I want to use ENVI LIDAR to get Tree height raster and Forest density raster. I processed the data with default settings and then in the toolbox window pressed the Forest Density code. I got Tree Height raster but Forest density raster is empty, i calculated raster statistics and it's 0.
Could suggest something

Totally new to this product (installed today). Have loaded a sample set of LAS files, things look fine.
Two quick questions:
1) Tried to show points, by classification. When ENVI-LiDAR displays the classification already in the LAS files (which appear to be very good to me), I get a gray-scale display. Is there any way to control the colorization of the existing point classifications in the source LAS files
