Using own shapefile ground truth data for supervised OBIA 1344 3
Started by Deleted User
I am trying to undertake a supervised OBIA of vegetation types on a sentinel 2 image. I am having trouble using a point shapefile as training data in the ENVI example based classification. My training data is based on a stratified random sample of a polygon layer containing 13 vegetation type classes. When I add it as ground truth data, it does not seem to choose the attributes in the field selected to assign classes and seems to assign them randomly. I am not sure how the training data is being...

Connecting a camera directly to ENVI software 1612 3
Started by Deleted User
We have recently purchased your ENVI 5.5 software and we are running on windows 10. The graphic device we are using is a GoldenEye Bayspec camera. We have installed two interfaces (Ximea, and GoldenEye) to capture pictures already. We would ideally like to capture images directly on ENVI. We are having issues being able to connect the camera to the ENVI software in order to take live images on the ENVI interface, and then ultimately store and analyze them. Any possible help that you could provi...

MNF Transform 2845 17
Started by Deleted User
I processed the data as follows: 1.subset the image from ROI and set data ignore value as 0 or other values(no data); 2.build a water mask using MNDSI; 3.mnf transform, select mask band as above. The problem is that the masked pixels still participate the processing of MNF,and the MNF results are different when set different data ignore value in step1. If i change the masked values as NaN(not a number), the MNF processing is no response at 99.

save as - ascii grid batch mode 2260 5
Started by Deleted User
Hi Forum,
Does anyone know how to save files as ESRI ASCII GRID in ENVI batch mode as through the toolbar we can save file as ASCII and change the output style into ESRI ASCII GRID. Because I need the ASCII header to be like:
ncols 642
nrows 395
xllcorner 4350250.000
yllcorner 2568250.000
cellsize 250.00000
rather then the ENVI standard ASCII header. I have tried using the ENVI_OUTPUT_TO_EXTERNAL_FORMAT routine but this routine only saves the file a...

Extracting MTMF results for polygons or ROIs 1678 9
Started by Deleted User
I have a vector file with 450 pond polygons for which I would like to perform spectral mixture analysis on. I ran the mixture tuned matched filtering and masked by my polygon layer. I now have mtmf output displaying for the mask only, but I am unsure how to actually extract the mtmf pixel values (2 values for each pixel based on 2 defined end members; wet and dry) for each polygon. I was hoping to perhaps merge the mtmf results with polygons but am not sure if this is possible. I did convert the...

ENVI Projection issue 1266 2
Started by Deleted User
Hi, I'm trying to overlay a .shp file over a .nc file. However The .nc file is strangely large (it goes to 925 lat, which is obviously not correct). Below I've uploaded some images of the situation in ENVI. As can be seen the projection of the .nc is very strange. https://ibb.co/GMwHBVR https://ibb.co/r509BW3 I've opened the .nc in Panoply and gotten it to display correctly for reference: https://ibb.co/8KRfJCc What am I doing wrong here Thanks, Esther

Download 4.8 3812 7
Started by Deleted User
Is there anywhere that I can download v4.8 I have a few users here that do not like the new UI. I also have had some complaints about missing functionality. I can not ascertain the validity of such complaints as my usage is very limited, but searching these forums, it appears that there probably is some justification to the claims.
We are in a very time sensitive situation, so we presently do not have the luxury of teaching old dogs new tricks. A download of 4.8 would be most beneficial to us ...

Masking to reduce stored file size 1344 1

I have a very large 8-band image (61704 x 339816, worldview-3). I am only interested in about 10 of this image, although the portions of the image I would like are scattered throughout. I have used this tutorial to crop and mask the image to the roi of my areas of interest: https://www.harrisgeospatial.com/Learn/Blogs/Blog-Details/ArtMID/10198/ArticleID/15326/Can-I-Subset-an-Image-Using-a-Shapefile This seems to work fine. All of my areas of interest look as they should, and the masked ou...

Pan sharpening artifact after FLAASH correction 2292 3
Started by Deleted User
I tested pan-sharpening on a LV3D (orthorectified) Worldview-3 image from DigitalGlobe. At this point the resulting pan sharpened image looks fine. Then I converted the multispectral image to radiance for FLAASH, then run the FLAASH tool. The resulting atmospherically corrected image also looks fine. But, when I then run NNDiffuse pan sharpening, the resulting pan sharpened image looks terrible. There are magenta halos and water loses it's gradient of color. I am not sure what is wrong. I have t...

reading spatial data from NetCDF via EnviTask 1899 1

Hi, I have a MODIS MCD43A4 NetCDF dataset that I am trying to read programmatically via IDL ENVITasks. For some reason the ENVITask('ExtractRasterFromFile') will not run - it says no such ENVItask exists. I can open the desired raster from the NetCDF (e.g. the blue band) via OpenRaster and specifying DATASET_Name however it does not read the spatial information. How can I get ENVI to read the spatial information, so that I can then reproject the raster Is there a way I can speci...

Stitching together photos of open water in OneButton? 2103 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi, I have over 800 aerial photos (and will eventually have more) that I am trying to stitch together in OneButton. The photos are of an estuary and every time I try to stitch them together in OneButton it fails to stitch the 'open water' photos together. It does fine stitching the photos of water near the shoreline, but it will not process the images out in the middle of the estuary. Is this common, and if so, is there a way to change settings so that it will stitch photos together based onl...

How to find Max Value of Stack of EVI Images 1929 1

I have 8 EVI Images, I need to find max value for each EVI Images Pixel and extract them into 1 Image that shows only the highest value of 8 EVI Images. Example: Image 1 has the highest value on several pixels from the other images, so the final image will take several pixels from Image 1. The Question, can I do that I've tried using band math (B1 GT B3 AND B1 GT B2)*B1 (B2 GT B1 AND B2 LT B3)*B2 .... but it seems doesn't show the correct value.
