How to run NDVI calculation on LandSat multispectral data 1667 1

Can anyone direct me to steps on how to run the NDVI calculation through a ENVI GUI&160; I find batch code under the IDL post "how to calculate NDVI for tons of MODIS images using IDL", but i can not find the GUI instructions to run the NDVI calculation.&160; I have a LandSat 7 multispectral image.&160; I did find steps for ENVI 4.3 here http://www.docstoc.com/docs/15483638/Digital-Image-Processing-with-ENVI, but they don't match 4.7.&160; I have access here at school to ENVI 4.7...

importing tif raster fiel from ArcGIs to ENVI 1699 3

Hi, I am importing a tif file from ArcGIS to ENVI but when I load it in ENVi it appers all black.&160; Does anybody know what the problem is&160; I am exporting the file through export data as a GeoTIFF file. Then I am opening TIFF file from ENVI.&160; I am not sure what to do.

Hi, i am trying to convert some images from - Map proj: UTM zone 60 Datum: WGS-84 to the new NZ projection NZTM which uses the NZGD2000 datum. I have added the NZTM as a new projection, but how do i get the datum in there I had a look at the datum file in notepad, but i have no idea what the parameters are that have been entered.
any ideas

Hi
I am attempting to extract a 15m DEM from a stereo imagery (ASTER 1A). The process runs perfectly well on the raw imagery. But the result obtained is a relative DEM with almost all the elevation values
- no GCPs (so no Z-calibrations) but the GCPs are currently collected on the field
- I read that ASTER 1A need a radiometric correction before attempting any calculations. But unfortunatly, I have no ideas how to manage these corrections. So I ask if anyone knows how to manage that, could y...

Hi all,
I am trying to rasterize/interpolate .las data only within predefined regions of a given .las file. For this purpose, I use the ENVI LiDAR Toolkit function 'Rasterize LiDAR data' and its check box options 'interpolate empty pixels' and 'use vector masks'. Unfortunately, the procedure stops (stop encountered: LIDARRASTERLAS) when specifying an .evf file containing several regions of interest in which the rasterization/interpolation should take place.

Hello,
I have two IKONSO images (blue,grn,red,NI,pan) of my study area in Chiapas.&160; They are two images that need to be mosaic togetaher because the study site encompasses part of both images.&160; However, when I look at the images in ENVI i see that they look very different.&160; One image is very crisp and brighter than the other one. I have used ISODATA unsupervised classification algorithm to classify Landsat5 TM data. I got the classified image, and can merge the classes using Overlay/classification option. But not able to perform accuracy assessment as there is no ROI associated with it.
I also want to use this classification results as an input for supervised Maximum likelihood classification. I am using ENVI 4.5.
Any help how to do this.

"MrSID readed is unavailable for this platform". &160;&160; Why How to solve it
That make no sense when&160; this tool doesn't&160; allow users to open large compressed files from a powerful platform.

I just try to use gap filling software, but I has problems with the message: GeoTIFF anchor file not recognized, and then I converted the file using ERDAS to GeoTiff format but the problem is Tag name GTCITATIONGEOKEY is undifined for structure. The original file is downloaded from glcf.umiacs.umd.edu/glcf/. Can any one help me for solve that problem

Okay, straight to the point: I need&160;help georeferencing an image in ENVI. I've read in binary level one data from polarimetric data (PARASOL- http://polder.cnes.fr/en/index.htm)&160;using IDL then imported to memory using&160;Envi_Enter_Data. Check and done. I'm completely lost on georeferencing however. I have latitude and longitude for each image pixel but none of the background pixels. I am performing Endmember Collection using a normalized (Scale Factor 1) library of spectra and the Spectral Information Divergence (SID) Algorithm.&160; Does this algorithm normalize the input image data in order to compare it to the library spectra.&160; If so, is the data normalized based on maximum band values, bit depth of the image, scale factor from the header data, or some other method
