I tried the SVM method but it was runing very slowly. After run 4 images I had to close ENVI and opened new one otherwhise it was too slowly. Does SVM take a lot of memory How can I run it more faster

I'm procesing ASTER images L1b on Envi to calculate temperature, but I had problems with that. I think I did a mistake with the wavelength scale factor and scale factor data. Do you know a way to get it wright I haven&180;t being lucky yet.

I have an endmember collection I have saved to ascii text file, and want to use that to classify a large number of images by using an IDL script. I am wondering whether someone could provide example code for this please
Looking in the ENVI reference material, it appears that the use of endmembers involves using the Endmember Collection Widget, but in my case I don't want to have user intervention - just to read in the endmembers from file and run the Maximum Likelihood classificat...

Hi everyone! I want to correct the smile effect of Hyperion images with ENVI . The choice of wavelength recalibration in FLAASH doesn't work with corrected images with less bands than 242.
Do you know any other way to achieve it

For example I’ve a lot of ASTER Image to Ortorectify, correct for Athmospher effect using FLAASH and other ENVI process.
Can I build a wizard that calls ENVI procedures automatically one after one.

Hi everyone,

I am using Spectral Hourglass Wizard to recognize the material in my AVIRIS reflectance image. The output of the Spectral Hourglass Wizard is reasonable. But if I tried to use Spectral Analyst to match my endmembers (got from Spectral Hourglass Wizard) with spectral library, the endmember will be matched to all the materials in spectral library with the same match score. I am quite confused about this. Hope someone can help me find what is wrong with it. Thanks in advance.

I downloaded this file looking for the lidar toolkit and it doesn't seem to want to run either with the IDL virtual machine, from the IDL workbench, or using idlrt -novm ENVI_LAS.sav.&160; it also doesn't correspond to the files in the Lidar toolkit tutorial video.&160; Does anyone know how to get the lidar toolkit to work Thanks!

I am new at classifying in ENVI and I cannot seem to figure out how to ignore zeros when running the maximum likelihood classifier.&160; I am sure there is an easy way to do this, but I cannot figure this one out.&160; Basically, when I classify my data, all is well except the external collar is classified as a particular land type.&160; Thanks for the help.

Hello,
The context: I am having some level 1.5 georeferenced PALSAR dataset.
What I want to do is to export those datas to IDL (I can do it now) and I want to have access to the layer that contains the lat/lon coordinates. In fact, I want to be able to extract the backscatter of one pixel located with its lat/lon coordinates and compare it to my ground dataset.
Because in ENVI I have the values displayed with their coordinates in the cursor value box and I wonder how to have an access to thos...

I cannot run MNF on my hyperion image.&160; Every time I try to run this, I get an error saying that the number of pixels in the shift difference spatial subset should be greater than the number of input bands.&160; My spatial subset is the entire image, so maybe I am doing something wrong or don't fully understand how to use MNF.&160; Does anybody have any suggestions for me

I just installed ENVI 4.6.1 on a Windows 7 machine (and rebooted at least twice).&160; Both the operating system and ENVI are the 64-bit versions.&160; Both ENVI (with or without IDL) and ENVI Zoom crash when I try to load them, but IDL loads just fine.&160; Does anyone have a fix for this

Hello all,
I would like to use ENVI/IDL to work as a server for image analysis. We already have quite a large code in ENVI/IDL, and it would be difficult to maitain a parallel code in fortan or whatever.
Our server is windows based,so as it is not possible to open the GUI from a CGI, and as the command line version of IDL is only available on linux, I am willing to switch to this OS. But, the fact is that I have been reading the Envi Help, and I don't find a way for IDL to load the Envi librar...

I have PALSAR images, level 4.1 product with slant range projection. I converted from slant to ground range projection in ENVI using information from published document.
The steps in ENVI are:
a. Radar---> slant to range ----> generic ( I did not find PALSAR in ENVI 4.5 and 4.6)
b. I put instrument height : 695.65 km ( I got it from published document)

How can I visualize the separability of my ROIs I've run the Computer ROI Separability tool from the ROI Tool window and got a value of 2.0 for almost all combinations, but I want to actually visualize the separation of the ROIs as histograms so I can see the range, means and especially the spectral distances between the ROIs. And I'd like to do this for all 3 bands separately (ASTER green, red and NIR). I did try the n-D Visualizer but did not find that to be effective, probably because...
