ERS2 interferogram generation: ERS2 orbital = failure 1133 3
Started by Deleted User
I'm having a problem when I try and create an interferogram (with DEM) using ERS2 and the precise orbits. Suprisingly, I can create an interferogram with the 2 generated SLC's when i don't use the precise orbital data during the focusing process. However, when I use precise orbital data it will focus the data without problem but when I try and form an interferogram it fails during the co-registration process and I get this error in the log (last few lines):
Amplitude cross corr: NOT ENOUGHT ...

Is this the right forum for questions about SARscape? 1058 2
Started by Deleted User
I've posted a few questions regarding SARscape in the last couple of weeks and have received no response. In hindsight, these questions were quite basic. so I don't believe that it was due to the question posed. This leads me to believe that perhaps this forum is not for SARscape.
Is this in fact correct If this is the case, please let me know if there is a forum dedicated to SARScape. Thanks!

processing SAR data for sea ice 1305 1
Started by Deleted User
I have several questions:
1. Is it reasonable to think that I can process some ERS-1 data to detect leads in sea ice without the SARScape module I don't need any capacity for interferometry or polarization analysis.
2. I am having some trouble calibrating the ERS data to sigma nought. In order to calculate the backscatter coefficients, I need a DEM. But, I am interested in looking at the sea. should I just create a DEM full of zeros I don't really want to do any terrain correction sinc...

Saving classified satellite images as grids for ArcGIS 997 3
Started by Deleted User
Hello,
i have tried all options in ENVI to save my classified satellite images as grids. I have used: 1) overlay grid lines and save and 2) Main menu-File-Save as- ArcGIS geodatabase....but the problem is, that i have to be able to open then in ArcGIS the ATTRIBUTE TABLES from the grids, but it was still without success. Is there any appropriate way to saving classified satellite images (raster datasets, i think they are diskret) as GRID to work then with the VATs (value attribute table) Thank...

ENVI 5 Spectral Profile 1200 1

I'm playing around a bit with ENVI 5.
The previous ENVI had a spectral profile that allowed one set an averaging window. Is that possible in ENVI 5

completely black intensity/power output in SARscape 1133 1
Started by Deleted User
Not sure what's causing this but after multilooking the data I get completely black (i.e. no features) when I load the output into the available bands list. I've processed 3 different Envisat ASAR image mode data and they all create completely black screens after multilooking. I get no errors after multilooking the data and the process appears to complete with no problems.
Any ideas

Heads up re Landsat files 1060 1
Started by Deleted User
I discovered today that thanks to the USGS metadata format update on August 29, the new Landsat metadata files (*MTL.TXT) are not readable by ENVI via the "open Landsat GeoTIFF with Metadata" function. They do, however, include the old format MTL files as "*MTLold.txt", which are readable by ENVI. They've also modified the actual filenames to match the subdirectory names in which the data are distributed. Yes, this means you may have to update your code if it involves openi...

Separability indices ENVI 5? 1447 5
Started by Deleted User
Greetings
I am new to ENVI 5 and have searched the documentation tirelessly. I cannot locate any separability index calculators (m-statistic, transformed divergence etc) for classified images. This was easy to do in ENVI 4.8, I assume it still is.
Can someone point me in the right direction
Best

Assigning bands in Band math expression 1371 1
Started by Deleted User
I am processing multiple Landsat data for my research. I would like to perform dark object subtraction on each image then calculate NDVI from the output. Does anyone know if there is a way of grabbing the bands from the dark object subtract result and use them in the Band math expression I have already done the dark object subtract part but I need to continue with the NDVI calculation.

Clouds and atmospheric correction 1096 2
Started by Deleted User
Hi there,
I have a few Landsat images (ETM and TM) which I want to use for landcover classifications. At the moment, I am trying to atmospherically correct them using the FLAASH module, but I have a few questions about the process.
Firstly, a couple of my images have some thick white clouds (not a lot, and not in my area of interest) - will these affect the outcome of the atmospheric correction, and should I try to mask them or remove them prior to carrying out the atmospheric correction in F...

Hello,
How i can transform emissivity values fom MOD11A2 (band 31 and 32) in Kelvin i already try the operation (b1*0.02) which is recommended in many papers to get the data value in Kelvin, but my values are two low to bel K, so can someone tell me the right procedure to get the temperature in K units

How to extract the pixel values in a certain shapefile by ENVI? 2708 1
Started by Deleted User
I have produced a coherence map (INSAR), and imported it into ENVI with geographical info.Every pixel of coherence map has its own DN value as coherence.
Then, I loaded another Landsat TM image into ENVI with the vectors (evf)as masks to distinguish different kinds of land types and uses(like vegetable ,urban and water).
Now I need to extract the values in each vector(shape),(like I have to gather all the coherence of water ) and export them out as an array in the format like txt or xls fo...

Is the elevation of the relative DEM relative to the ellipsoid? 1257 2
Started by Deleted User
Hi,
I used the DEM Extraction Modules to extract a DEM from the ASTER L1A data without GCPs, that is a relative DEM.
Is the elevation of the DEM relative to the WGS-84 ellipsoid And if so, how could I convert the elevation to the height relative to EGM96 geoid
Thank you very much.

Mosaic images using the max value between images 1197 2
Started by Deleted User
Hello-
I was wondering if there is a way to mosaic overlapping images that have a range of negative values that need to ignored in order for the mosaic to work correctly. For example, some of my images have more than one negative value. I would like to set the mosaic to just choose the maximum value of overlapping images, but I haven't seen this as an option.
Thank you

How to define projection for an image with arbitrary projection (pixel-based) 2047 1
Started by Deleted User
Hello,
I am trying to define a projection for an image that has an arbitrary projection (pixel based). I have read from some forums that arbitrary projection means that it doesn't have any projection at all.
I have tried "Convert Map Projection" but it doesnt work as it dont have an initial projection to convert it from. I have also read that layerstaking will not work. I still tried to put on top of the list the projection I want to copy in layer stacking, and yes it didn't work.
