The AddAnnotation method allows you to add a text annotation to the display.

This method has been deprecated.

Example

Use the DataSample.las file to first create a project named DataSample.ini.

; Get the ENVI LiDAR session
e = E3De(/CURRENT)

; Set the annotation color
color = [0b, 0b, 255b]

; Add the annotation
e.AddAnnotation, [593842, 5289520, 340], "annotation 1 - 593842, 5289520, 340", $
  COLOR=color, ERROR=error

Syntax

E3De.AddAnnotation, Location, Text [, CENTER_VIEW=variable] [, COLOR=variable] [, ERROR=variable] [, SPATIALREF=variable]

Arguments

Location

The location of the annotation. A 3-by-n array of double-precision floating point values containing the x,y,z positions of the points.

Text

A string containing the annotation text.

Keywords

CENTER_VIEW

Set this keyword to center the Navigation window on the annotation location. This is useful if the annotation is currently out of view.

COLOR

A 3x1 array specifying the text color of the annotation in R,G,B values.

ERROR

Set this keyword to a named variable that will contain any error message issued during execution of this routine. If no error occurs, the ERROR variable will be set to a null string (''). If an error occurs and the routine is a function, then the function result will be undefined.

When this keyword is not set and an error occurs, ENVI returns to the caller and execution halts. In this case, the error message is contained within !ERROR_STATE and can be caught using IDL's CATCH routine. See IDL Help for more information on !ERROR_STATE and CATCH.

See Manage Errors for more information on error handling in ENVI programming.

SPATIALREF

An instance of an E3DLidarSpatialRef. Use this keyword to specify the coordinate system of the location of the annotation.
