trouble with Dynamic Overlay 1137 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi--I have a CORONA image and an aerial photo, both georecitfied with the same projection details, etc. Of course, the spatial resolution is different--but do I need to stack the layers for the dynamic overlay to work I'm not sure what to set the x and y offsets to--whether it's 1,1 for both, or whether one of them is set to a different x,y offset, the images don't register correctly. What am I missing
Thank you--
Steve M.

Spectral Resampling 1544 1
Started by Deleted User
Dear all,
I recently started to use ENVI. I want to do spectral resampling of HyMAP Imagery based on SPOT5 imagery. For this I used the build in funtion of ENVI spectral resampling and use the filter for SPOT5. But I want to know about the claculation procedure involved for the resampling. I believe ENVI also uses the gaussian distribution often called spectral response function to claculate weight. But I want to know detail claculation. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Pujan

Applying Projection Info to output data 1128 1
Started by Deleted User
Dear Forum Readers,
I am a new user to ENVI, and so this question is probably very basic!
When processing an image, such as running an unsupervised classification, NDVI, subsetting an image etc. the resultant images have no projection info. The input images are .TIF format with a tfw world file associated with them. I am using ENVI 4.4 ,without an IDL licence.
I tried using File/Edit ENVI Header process to apply the correct projection but without success! How do I apply the projection ...

can ENVI_RESAMPLE_SPECTRA operate on arrays of spectra? 1183 1
Started by Deleted User
the help file on this seems to contradict itself. This is the description for the input wavelength keyword:
I_Spec
A one-dimensional array of input spectra to be resampled.
'One-dimensional array' seems to imply a single spectrum, but the word 'spectra' being plural clearly implies more than one spectrum. Three other keywords (I_wl, O_wl, and O_spec) all say the same thing as this.
Also, if the routine only operates on one spectrum at a time, and returns one spectrum at a time, why...

Problem with display linking of a subset image 1221 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi there. I have a Quickbird panchromatic image, and I am using this to spatially subset a separate multispectral image, also from Quickbird. Both files seem to be georeferenced correctly, and the Geographic link works fine. But the link displays option is wrong for some reason. It associates coordinate 1,1 in the new image with coordinate 1720, 2400 (or something like that) in the original image, which I assume is normal--however the displays do not line up at all. I tried changing setting...

Envi Geotiff failed to open in ArcGis 1398 1
Started by Deleted User
Dear friends,
I have MODIS Level 2 SST data from oceancolor. Manage to open it using EPOC in ENVI. And manage to save it as *.tif file.
But when I open the tiff file in ArcGis, it doesnt carry the same SST value. I only got one SST value for the whole image. The projection is correct.
Anybody can help me on this
Thanks in advance guys,
Idham

How to clip a vector file? How to perform vector-to-raster convertion? 1560 1
Started by Deleted User
I have two questions:
1) How to clip a vector file
How do I clip a specific area from a vector file
I have two vector files (.evf). I want to use one those (smaller) to clip the other one (bigger). How can I do this
Is it possible to do this using ROIs I already converted the smaller vector file to a ROI but then I cannot use this ROI to clip the same area in the other bigger vector file. It seems thats this only works with raster images.
2) How to perform vector-to-raster convertio...

orthorectification 1450 0
Started by Deleted User
In ENVI's orthorectification process (starting with Build RCPs in this tutorial: http://www.rsinc.com/Envi/docs/tutorials/Orthorect_Aerial.pdf ),
after building the interior and exterior orientation, I try to bring in my DEM
and it says that the DEM and the image do not match (not sure if that is exactly what it said).
What I have is a large rectangular DEM of the area and the aerial photograph I am trying to orthorectify lies within the DEM.
Do I have to create a clip within the DEM of the...

Spatial subset by ROI, inclusion/exclusion rules ? 1346 1
Started by Deleted User
I'm extracting image statistics using ROI as spatial subset and i would like to know more about the rules regarding the inclusing/exclusion of a given pixel.
Is it based on the pixel area included in the AOI or the position of the pixel center
For ex.:
* If 50 of pixel area is included within the AOI, then pixel is considered in the statitics
* If the gravity center of pixel is included within the AOI, then pixel is considered in the statitics
Thanks in advance

DEM extraction for PRISM- RPC coefficients 1430 1
Started by Deleted User
Hello:
I work with ENVI software and would like to utilize its capability of DEM Extraction from stereo images of PRISM triplet images. After purchasing some scenes (both L1B1 and L1B2), I've learned that the RPC (rational polynomial coefficients) do not come as part of the data order. I had presumed they'd be in the metadata somewhere or an associated file. Can someone instruct me or point me towards a reference for their computation or how to obtain I saw a reference that RESTEC can su...

data value to ignore in ENVI ZOOM 1429 1
Started by Deleted User
Is there a way to select a 'data value to ignore' in ENVI ZOOM I often find myself overlaying georeferenced HSI imagery that has a lot of blank space (filled with zeros) over (say) panchromatic imagery. I would like to be able to 'see through' the areas of the HSI image that are zeros, much in the way one can in the mosaic tool in ENVI. Is this possible in ENVI ZOOM If not, is there an equivalent alternative

Importing rasters or vectors as ROI--can this be done? 1108 1
Started by Deleted User
Hi there. This may be really simple, but I'm missing something. I have training data that I want to use for a supervised classification. The map was created in ArcGIS, and I have it in both raster and vector format. It's fairly simple--only 4 classes, and a 4 or 5 polygons per class. The attribute table is simple...just the polygon id's and a number, 1-4, denoting the land type. Can I import these as ROI's, so that I don't have to manually merge them every time
Thanks--
Steve
