Observer Points Text File Format

When you create a text file to import Viewshed Analysis observer points, do not use spaces as a delimiter for the observer point data. Spaces are only allowed within the Name field, to make the observer name more descriptive. The file requires only x and y coordinates, but can contain the following data:

Name,x,y,z,Radius

• Use one coordinate system for all x,y values.
• If a column of data is missing, ENVI LiDAR will supply a default value. If data is missing from one field, an error will display in the Operations Log.
• If the x or y field has invalid data. such as alphabetic or special characters, the file import will translate the value to 0, and will not import it into the project.
• If the coordinate values for an observer point fall outside of the project extents, the observer point will not be imported into the project.
