The Toolbox provides access to ENVI's image analysis tools, and to the custom extensions that you create using the ENVI API. See Write and Deploy Toolbox Extensions for information on how to add your own extensions.

To quickly find a specific tool, you can use the Search field to filter the Toolbox list by the search term you enter. To return to the full tool list, clear the text from Search field.

You can add frequently used tools to the Favorites folder for easy access. Manage your Favorites as follows:

• To add a favorite, select a tool or folder in the Toolbox tree and click the Add to Favorites button to place it in the Favorites folder. You can also drag and drop tools and folders to Favorites. When you add to Favorites, the original links to the tools and folders will still be available in the Toolbox tree.
• To remove a favorite, select a tool or folder and click the Remove from Favorites button. Removing a tool or folder from Favorites does not remove the original link to it from the Toolbox tree.
• To create a new folder, right-click the Favorites folder and select Create New Folder.
• To rename a Favorites folder or any of its entries, right-click the item and select Rename Item.
• To reorder Favorites items, drag and drop items into different locations or positions in the Favorites tree.
• To export your list of Favorites to an .xml file, right-click the Favorites folder and select Save Favorites. The default filename is envifavorites.xml, but you can enter a different name as needed.
• To restore items from a Favorites file, right-click the Favorites folder and select Restore Favorites. Select the .xml file to restore. When you restore an .xml Favorites file, any currently defined Favorites will be lost.
